Nancy hit the nail on the head.  Just because you get it set correctly doesn't mean it will stay that way.  I keep an old credit card in the drawer under the saw so I can check it periodically.

I don't use spirals as I don't like them and have done some silhouette cutting with a #1 or #3 reverse tooth.  It depends on the intricacy and the thickness of backing to determine which I use.

I have been cutting some 3/4" pine and using a #3 FDUR but a #5 will work fine also for less intricate cuts.

I would consider some of the advice given.  Each individual has to make their own decision, however.  I am 76 and have COPD and have managed to keep sawing as long as the humidity doesn't get too high.  I also belong to a bowling league where last year had to start wearing knee braces due to arthritis of the knees.  I have been advised to quit both activities but decided that as long as I can keep going I will.  I have recently begun wood carving with a group so have limited some of the other activities.
