General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Tried to make angle grinder into 4 inch saw
« on: January 20, 2013, 07:39:58 pm »
Power saw blades are not supposed to be used over 300RPM's and you are using yours at over 30,000RPM's, the mind boggles at to what would happen if the blade decided to quit, we would have one less member on the forum.
Please be careful

I stay with the same size blade for all my band saw work, if you have several different sizes you have to reset you saw to use them

Band saws buy the best you can afford, cheap is not an option for this machine, if you want to cut thick wood, this saw needs to be treated with the utmost respect as it takes no enemies if you make a mistake

I only use a timer [wall clock] when I am doing commission work and this includes gluing the patterns on other stuff I make and sell I charge what I think I can get at the local fairs and market days, I work on a wholesale basis

There are some nice set ups there but how do you all keep your work shops so clean, mine is always so full of dust and I have dust extraction as well as work shop vacs. and clean the whole work shop out on a regular basis

I brought a cheap saw as a stand buy as I have had so much trouble with my EX 21 it is OK but the motor is too small and it has to be run at high speed to keep the revs. up
