General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: A big thank you to Sheila Landry

It takes a special person to remember those who has made it possible for all of us to enjoy what we love to do. Sheila Landry is that special person. Also, Steve is a special person for giving us a forum in which to share our talents and ideas with each other...thank-you both.

Brian,
I'm not at all surprised it sold so quickly, it's a beautiful piece. Your wood choices are excellent. The only bad thing is that it reminds me of "spring" and we still have several more weeks of winter left.

Troy, thanks for asking! On this project I used Yellow Heart, Red Heart, Wenge, Cherry and Aspen (which I coated using "Old Masters" white gel stain). The overall size measures 12" x 12".

Thanks to everyone for your kind comments! I was hoping that Russ or Charlie wouldn't pull the plug on my connection for having  posted this project.

Sheila,
Your new site is beautiful, very vibrant and colorful. The variety of patterns and projects is incredible. It truly is one stop shopping. You and Keith have undoubtedly been busy and you guys are a blessing to the Scrollsaw Community. My very first Segmentation/Intarsia project was your Easter Cross which still hangs proudly on my wall. It's obvious that you really do love what you do. We are lucky to have you!

I received a request from a lady to make her a Tissue Box that she could put on her desk at work. I made this box using Walnut and Maple. I cut dove tail joints for the corners and cut a mortise for the lid support. I apologize if I offend anyone since this wasn't totally a scrollsaw project, but I did try to enhance the project by adding some scroll work. Thanks for taking a look!

Paul, just forget about the number of blades you used, this is excellent work. It's the end result that really matters and you really have completed a wonderful piece. You should be proud!

It's obvious that these designs are very intricate, but you brought them to life. It takes a delicate touch and incredible patience to complete such beautiful pieces. Anyone would be proud to own them. I know I would be.
