You guys are getting me the "bug" to try.  Maybe this winter (we live in Tucson AZ).

I just use a plastic tray about 2 inches wide by 12 inches long.  Works great.  For pencils and things that will stand up, I put a cup behind the tray..

I have 2 Dewalt 788s.  Found one in a yard sale that I couldn't pass up.  It is newer than my original one.  I love having two, and love my Dewalts.

I just use my printer to resize - smaller or larger works great.  Then I have the original for my file.  Guess I'm just an office worker  :)

My blades were slipping out the other day and I remembered I had just put on hand lotion before I went out to work.  Washed off the hand lotion and I was back in business again.  I also use mineral spirits and sand paper on the blades.  Remember there is a spare thumb screw where we took off the hold down bar.

1/8 inch Baltic Birch will make a nice backer board.  You could use acrylic too, blue would be nice.

Just bought my BLO today.  Have to pick up the mineral spirits and I'm in business.

I use #5 blades for everything.  Of course Mike's Flying Dutchman reverse.  They last a long time and I hardly ever break a blade, they wear out first.  I also only use Red Oak. Same for stack cutting, occasionally use #2 spiral blade for feathers or things that require a bit of a rough line.

It IS addictive.  Fills your time and head with "patterns, wood, glue, saw blades, sand paper, saws, drill bits" and the like.  I LOVE IT!!!!!  Enjoy and don't let any pattern that looks too complicated stop you.  You can do it.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Air blower on DW788

My blower came off because it cracked.  Took off the cracked segment but couldn't get it back on.  One of the "great guys" on this forum said to put it into very hot, almost boiling water for a few seconds - I did (had to try a couple times) but it worked like a charm.  Thanks again to you "great guys" who are able to help with any problem.

Wooden Teddy Bear has a nice roadrunner pattern.  # is WT33W for $4.95 (9 x 7 Road Runner).
I will try to attach a copy of the one I made.
