You are welcome Judy.  You were smart not to download from a "gooble de gook" site.  Been there, done that.

Here is a post from 2016 about LED light. See Reply #10. I just checked Amazon and they still show the light.

Barb,
I found this video on installing Pegas clamps on the DW788.  Note that the clamps installed are the earlier version before the model for the DW 788 was available.  I have not watched all of the video.  I believe everything comes with the new clamp heads.

What you are seeing on the screws is blue Loctite or another brand of thread lock.  It is a liquid, somewhat like a glue, that is put on the threads before the screw is installed.  Install wet and when dry the screw is held in place.  Do not get the red Loctite because it will lock the screw in so tight you might need to use heat to get it to release.

I can’t find the cow pattern. Have you seen the one that says “god bless farmers?” Can’t find that one either.
Thanks again.

Go to Steve's pattern site.  Search for God bless farmers and the pattern will show.
Search for Welcome to our farm and the cow pattern will show

Steve's review at this link gives instruction for the change out.  After the link opens, scroll down a bit and you will see the pictures.  Instructions are written under the EX 21 photo.

I have had my 788 clone (40-690) set up like this for nearly 5 years with no problems.

In Steve's post today he stated that he had received the Pegas 788 clamps and would be doing a review on them.

The Pegas 788 clamps can be pre-ordered from Bear Woods.  https://www.bearwood.com/cgi-bearwood/sb/productsearch.cgi?storeid=*14894f2baaa740960c552b5d&search_field=pegas+clamps

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: DW788 knob Mod
« on: April 13, 2018, 03:30:09 pm »

We tried the screws from my Delta 40-694 saw (the DW 788 clone) and they worked in the PC so he ordered a set for his saw.
Larry

I really messed my info to you.  I have the Delta 40-690  not the 694.  The 690 and 788 part numbers should be the same.

I am actually looking for a better blade clamp AND screws, but I will settle for any thumb screws that might be interchangeable with mine.

Any help?
Thanks

Fellow scroller had the Porter Cable saw.  We tried the screws from my Delta 40-690 saw (the DW 788 clone) and they worked in the PC so he ordered a set for his saw.

I use anti-sieze compound on the clamp screw threads.  For me, it takes less effort to tighten and loosen them and I do not have the mods taking up space for my thumb and finger.
