Yes that is they way to do it BUT be careful and only move the motor a fraction at a time as you can easily put the whole machine out of balance

This what I thought if they wont answer a simple question then there is something wrong, lets make time in Oz is just as bad, they wont tell you the cost of shipping until an order is placed then they charge the top rate

you need a jig to hold the coins Oges as they are to small to control, I used a #2 blade and it was an old one that I have I keep most of my worn blades and these worked a treat as all the cutting is done at the higher end of the blade because the coin is higher in the jig, does that make sense???

Here are the first 2 coins I have cut, a bit rough but a start, the silver one is a 2 shilling piece dated 1934 and the copper one is a penny and dated 1960, these coins are no longer used in NZ as we are on decimal currency, them about 4 years ago the re sized all our coins and now the older coins are of no spending value

Hi Gabby the metal in the silver coin I cut is mostly silver and the copper penny I'm not sure but they cut very easily, but you have to take it slowly to avoid over heating and keep the speed of the saw down as well

I tried mine on the dust extractor but it kept on blocking so now I use it out side and have a very large wool sack that catches a good percentage of the chips and I just sweep the rest up

Not as hard as I thought it may have been, I made a jig to hold the coins [2 sizes] got some old blades that I had kept #2 I think and put them in and just started cutting, easy as
The reason I used old worn blades because the cutting is done on the upper part of the blade that has not been used, I broke 3 blades on 2 coins but the blades were worn so it did not matter

Ties Gb that is modern, only last week my wife wanted to throw my old suit out and that was not that old perhaps 50 or some thing, I let it go as it didn't fit but I told her that I may grow into it

Gabby those corners are cut on the saw, I all so do some of my box's with a finger joint on the corners they are done on a router table, and they look really nice if the corners are rounded
Yes I used to spend most of my days on the lathe but now the knowledge of turning has been a huge asset to my wood craft in general
