Thanks for the kind words.

Pete, I used my spindle sander and randomly created notches at about 45 degrees. Then, my favorite part, I took a torch to the edges to give it a burned look. It's kind of hard to see in the photos but it creates a framed outline.

I finished this one up today. It's 3/4" walnut and measures 18" x 11". Thanks for looking.

I was at the grocery store last week and bought beer. The kid at the register asked if I'd scan it for him because he was too young to sell beer. Gotta love our #@%&/$# legal system.

I think there is a need for taxes but when the government taxes our income and our purchases our system will never be fair. I think consumers would be better off with higher sales tax and no income tax. That way each individual could control the amount of taxes they pay.

I hear ya. Isn't it funny that we have laws to prevent the idiots from doing idiotic things, but doesn't do a thing for the honest folks. If you want to have some fun, get a bunch of different cans of spray paint and go through the self-checkout aisle. Scan on can of paint, have the attendant come over and tell you that you are not old enough to buy it. After the attendant walks away, scan the next can. See how long it takes them to figure out that you still have more cans to scan.

I finally got the frame done. My table saw sled must have got bumped because the corners are off a bit. Oh well, I guess I'll have to fix it before the next frame.

The frame is sassafras, which smells wonderful when cutting. Glass front with black matting in the back.
