Sometimes I use spray adhesive, but often I use full sheet adhesive labels.  They come off easier than anything else I have used.  Some say they are too expensive, but I find them worth the savings in time & effort.  Besides, I recycle all the ink cartridges from my office through a store who gives rewards for them and that usually  pays for my labels.  The source that provides the ink cartridges does not have a means of returning them.

Unless you have the tools to cut a larger size down, you may have a difficult time.  If you have a table saw you could always glue up a larger piece and then trim it down.

Don't listen to them!  You just need a good pair of elbow extenders.

Should give you a lot of flexibility Candi.  If you have a Woodcraft nearby they just had a sale with 35 router bits in a box for $25.  See if they have any left and will give you the sale price.  They aren't bad bits and it would give you a great starter set.

Candi,  You are starting down a road which can either stay with small limited projects, or wind up with major furniture and a lifelong passion.  Try to learn if there is a woodworking guild that meets near you.  Check for Woodcraft or other stores that might be nearby where you could take a class or two.  Maybe there is an adult education center that has woodworking classes.  Ask your friends if any have other friends that are woodworkers.  If you can find a mentor or some classes you can better explore just what it is you want to do.

The Coffee Shop / Ornaments in Florida!
« on: December 18, 2012, 12:19:51 am »
When I got home tonight I had a package from Kepy, my secret Santa.  He sent not 1 but 4 beautifully done ornaments.  I have already snapped a picture with my cell phone, but it hasn't come through yet.  I should be able to post the picture tomorrow.

Thanks Kepy!
and thanks to Russ for running this exchange and Steve for giving us a home!

I have had two different models.  Ran a 16" for years and loved it.  Sold it after I got a deal on the 26"VS I now use.  They are wonderful machines in my opinion.  I hope Bushton returns the brand to prominence.

I find you don't need a ton of pressure for these jobs.  After all the bond from glue in a miter is poor at best.  You can just use painter's tape as a clamp, but it is best to reinforce the joint some other way and not rely just on a glued miter.  Depends on the size of the wood involved.  Big enough...put a biscuit or spline in the joint.  Or use the suggestions from your other message.
