General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: ScrollSaw dust collection
« on: July 27, 2013, 07:41:49 pm »
It may help to keep under the table clean, but how effective is it at clearing the air above the table? Gravity has a way to make the dust below the table migrate to the floor. I think you would be better off with some type of dust collection above the table. A box fan with a filter works fine or you could go with a commercial dust collector and put the intake above the table but out of the way of scrolling. Either way, do what you need to to protect those lungs.

Charles, I don't have a Facebook account, but I believe you can report them to the administrators. They should investigate and shut them down if they are violating copyrights.

I found the hole size on your blog. It is 2.75" if anyone else needs to know.

Hi Steve,

On the passive sound amp for the the iPhone I didn't see the size of the sound hole. It looks about 2". Could you verify this for me? Thanks.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: mitre sled vs mitre saw
« on: July 17, 2013, 07:21:29 am »
I made a sled for my table saw out of scrap pieces of wood and it works great. I have a miter saw, but it has its limits. If you only plan to use it once and a sled will work, I'd invest the hour or two to make the sled.

I remember an organization years ago that did a survey  and found that homes with a sign or decal that said This home protected by  some security company   were less likely to be broken in to. It didn't matter if you actually had an alarm or not. I have no problem shooting an intruder. I just make sure my friends and loved ones know to knock.
