General Scroll Saw Talk / baltic birch plywood dulling the blades
« on: November 08, 2011, 03:55:37 pm »
I was wondering does the baltic birch plywood dull the scroll blades faster then solid wood.

I use a olson  speedmatch  SR #3 blade.

For the other people out that use the FD blades and tell me to get some.   i have try them  all they do is burn the baltic birch plywood and soft pine wood don't mater what I do and don't cut well.  so i'm back to the olson blades.  I have talk to steve good and mike about this.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Bad wood day!
« on: October 19, 2011, 01:46:36 am »
I'm busy making some ornaments that Sheila designed. When putting the design on wood for stack sawing, I came short on the birch ply and found a piece of poplar that just fitted the bill. Worked for the first 3 ornament, put it has now decide to break on me and crumble, checked the wood and I see small cracks. So arggg, will stop and go search in the hope that I still have something of quality floating around that is 1/8". The weather is wet and cold and I am snotty so best not to go running around to find my wood.
Have a nice day everybody.

David

So did post the photos of them yet

Ask Steve a question. / Re: DeWalt Saw
« on: October 18, 2011, 01:36:49 pm »
you want the tension of the blade to bend in the middle as little as 1/8" or less. by putting a little pressure in the middel of the blade.

and you don't want to over tight the blade chucks cause that well were them out.

when I set tension at maximum

Do not set the tension to the maximum you could damage the scroll saw set the blade tension to 3 to 4.

to much tension can also do damage to the moter as well.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Advice Please on EX-21
« on: October 18, 2011, 12:28:03 pm »
I am looking pretty close at the Ex -21. was in the store yesterday and took my little square.  The blade is not perfectly square from front to back. is there a fix?  This is one of the reasons I am thinking about changing from my DeWalt 788.

Judy Steve bad has a video on how to make it square front to back....

I love mine ex-21 scroll saw lot better then the dw788 scroll saw but i wish it came with a light tho. but i guess i could get a led floor lamp. oh by the way the ex-21 is slower then the dw788 scroll saw

args - get well soon. How is your dad doing?

I'm always wondering if it would be better to buy a bigger car like a pickup or a jeep.
Cars in Germany are getting bigger, there is a huge hype for jeep-style cars and massive vans.

Maybe an army tank would be better lol.........

We are doing fine things are getting better.
The Fargo ND police hung the other guy butt.

i'll keep you posted

and my dad did get out on saturday around noon.
thanks for you nice words everyone and have a good week. I hope this week is better then last week.
