Top feed bottom feed who cares what ever takes your fancy and what ever you are comfortable with as long as the saw does as it is supposed to do and that is cut wood in comfort

If you are using tape under your pattern ask for low tack tape it is easier to get off

Take your pick there is a dozen ways to hold your boards, really depends on what you are cutting, my preference is binding them at the edges with packing tape

General Scroll Saw Talk / Compliment
« on: September 29, 2011, 09:47:18 pm »
What in your opinion  would be the best compliment you have had for your scroll work.
Mine was at the last craft fair our club did and it was the amount of people that asked if my work was laser cut, this was not only a compliment in my opinion but held their attention and often produce a sale

I don't think I would like to organize a craft fair, there is more to it than meets the eye, first off you have to get the rite crafters then organize tables advertising and the list goes on, but once you have the first one under your belt it should become easier
Best of luck

Thanks guys, Crabby you can adjust the arm the instructions are in the manual, my saw is 14 months old and I have had a number of problems such as the main bearing collapsing and after replacement it vibrates like  a cheap saw, it is to go back to the dealers for that so hopefully they can sort that out, I have also striped the thread on the blade holder, that was replaced and now the tension lever, I took it apart today and sanded all the surfaces flat and that seems to have helped

Those members that have an Excalibur saw have you had any trouble with the blade tension lever, I have had trouble on and off with the lever slackening off while operating and now it will not stay back I have cleaned it out but still no joy
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Poly is a harder finish and does not mark, shellac is a soft finish and tends to chip and mark easily
