The bad news from the report was I intended to have him remove my appendix and gall bladder while he had me open.  He didn't think that was good idea.
Also, I missed a 26" Hawk for $350 that sold before I got to it.

I grew up in the country and remember these well.  A special treat was collecting a group of kids and heading for the swimming hole.  Often driving with kids riding on the front fenders.  You had to periodically get out and pluck off the leeches that lived in the leaves on the bottom of the creek.

Just wanted to let you know that after letting y'all and my church family convince me to have surgery, I met my surgeon today all set to schedule the operation.  He told me that I have to pass a test to qualify.  So, next week I will be undergoing some sort of stress test and hopefully then will be able to correct the aneurism with stints rather than full surgery.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: The things I like about this forum

The beginners who find this site have no idea how fortunate they are.  My first contact with scrolling was in the 60's and back then found no references, so everything was done by trial and error (a lot of error).  Steve and the members here have created a reference and family place that is top notch.

Works great if you put something like dog silhouette as limits the items.
You sure took me back with the use of "Dude".  That was big back in the 60's.  I got in trouble for it when I worked on a dude ranch.

I remember my Dad telling my Mom that when she hit 40 he was trading her in for 2 20's and her response was that he wasn't wired for 220.

The new pattern library is great.  The only problem is, I haven't figured out how to transfer the organization of the patterns to my computer.

Guess the wishes didn't work.  I never got ahold of the guy with the saw and found out my aneurism had grown from 4.7 to 5cm since Dec.  Now I have to go see the surgeon again and see what he says.

The hospital got a new cat so I am scheduled for a CT scan today.  Thought I might as well make use of the 138 mile trip so I checked Craigslist for the area and found a 26" RBI for $300 but it had already sold but also found a 14" RBI for $100 that at the last I heard hadn't sold so I will try again to reach the guy.

Nifty idea.  I would add a couple of clamp on lights to each side to prevent shadows.

I both use ready made and also make my own.  I cut the blanks from 1" stock and have a router set up with a rabbeting bit, then either use biscuits if wide enough or just glue and a wavy drive in holder.  I usually round over the inside edge and use an ogee on the outside.

That is a beautiful pattern, Paul.  I would probably cut it as a trivet.

My shop is currently unheated so obviously I'm not working there.  The other picture shows how I am getting some cutting done.  Finally, the reason that I'm not going anywhere.

Julie, got my inhalers yesterday so am good to go for a while.  My diet may get interesting as can't get out to go to the store.  Roads are only good for 4 wheel drive and no warm up in sight with snow forecast for 4 of the next 5 days.  At least we haven't lost power which is a blessing.  My surgery is on hold as was supposed to have a CT scan in Jan but had to cancel due to weather and has been rescheduled for the 15th.  I told everyone that I couldn't have the cat scan as the cat died.LOL

One thing for small town living.  My post office called yesterday as my inhalers had come in and they wanted to know if I was OK for a couple of days.  Hopefully they will get delivered today as I have been on half dosage to make it last and ran out last night.
