The Coffee Shop / Re: WHAT IS THE ....NEW....PRINCE'S LAST NAME?
« on: August 09, 2013, 09:41:01 am »
Not sure what it would be.  You can see online that Prince harry, williams brother, has a picture of him in military uniform and his name tag says Harry Wales.  His dad is the prince of Wales.

William is the duke of cambridge and wont become the prince of wales until his dad takes the throne so would that make the babys last name cambridge?

Dont know for sure but seems to make sense.

I make my patterns bigger using excel.

You can stretch the picture to whatever size you want and then it will print out across multiple pages.  You have to tape it together but it works for me.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: blade tension disorder
« on: July 18, 2013, 09:59:02 am »
I use super thin blades. 2/0 and 3/0 and they will break just putting the tension on them if I am not careful. They work best with less tension and last much longer.  Of course I go on the slowest speed and only use 1/8" baltic birch as well.

I just use a piece of scrap wood to hold the arm up.  Works good enough and saves money.

Computer questions / Re: Computer going back into shop (again)
« on: May 21, 2013, 09:00:56 pm »
mine did something similar to that.  worthless.

I was not about to spend money on a new one so i installed ubuntu.

Its free and you can even run it from a zipdrive.

Its a different operating system so but windows is still there, it just runs either or at startup.

It takes a bit of getting used to but everything was much easier to set up like wireless, email and the like.  just click and it was done.

I will never go back.

Used to get this with ie.

i installed firefox.  you can go to add ons and look up pop up blocker and install that in a few seconds for free and that takes care of it.

i might get one pop up every couple days now.

Keep in mind that these are politicians so they will keep trying all of those things knowing what the outcome will be.

I sand before I put the pattern on so the wood is noce and smooth.

Then when i attach the pattern I use a very, very light coating of spray glue.  So light that it will almost fall off by itself.

Dont have the breaking problem anymore.

If I do need to sand, obviously I dont use a sander.

I just bought a used dewalt and it had the same problem.  A couple of the balls were cracked.

I tried to pull off the broken ones but every time I did i cracked the good one holding it in.

Finally figured out that if I soak it in really hot water for a minute it will expand enough to be able to deal with without more damage.

Tossed the broken pieces and reassembled it.  Shorter but works now.

If poor people have no money now and get all of their tax money in the form of a refund, then wouldnt a flat tax be an increased tax for them and hurt them the most?

Its a good lesson in government for you.

Clearly all these laws against spray paint dont keep the bad guys from using it the wrong way.

It just makes it tougher for all of us good people to get it.

I use a jewelers drill.

If needed i trim the butt end of the bit to where ut just barely extends beyond the thickness of the wood.  Otherwise they will break very easily.

The biggest one i use is a #68 and that is not too often.

usually i use a #72 or 73.
