OK Paul you aren't the only city boy here.
Just visualize how the tread would work. With the V's pointing forward as in the photo soft material would be channeled out to the sides allowing the tire to reach firmer soil beneath it. With the V's reversed the soft material is pulled to the center of the track causing the wheel to slip. Elementary my dear Watson!

Hi Roger, I have tried a couple of times to pattern the photo but it just won't work out sorry, I have another pattern of an old tractor that may do, your welcome to use it.......Paul

It's easy to see you aren't a Farm Boy Paul.
Take a look at the rear tires in the photo, and in your drawing. The photo is correct.
There will be a test. Does anyone know why they're mounted that way? This should stir up the hornets.  ;D ;D
Just have to keep you on your toes Paul! LOL

Picked this up at a garage sale yesterday. If someone has a collection of old saws it's yours for the cost of shipping.

Ok so I'm guessing KEN attached a photo of the saw. I can understand deleting copy righted plans, or items made from them. Or naughty language. But what is wrong with a photo of a saw? I didn't see it as it had already been deleted.

Just in case you are unable to find the correct part, contact your local Electric parts store. We have one in Grants Pass, OR by the name of Grovers, they carry nearly everything electrical. Lowes or Home Depot might help too. You might be able to get by with a variable switch meant for fans or lights. It probably wouldn't fit your saw but you could mount it anywhere and run the wires to the saw.

Hey!

Don't use spray adhesive - that's a retiree's thing.  ;D ;) :D

I print my patterns on sticker. Those are simple removable - even better when the tape is between sticker and wood. They can stay on for weeks and will simply be peeled off.

Might be a little more expensive - but is so much easier to work with and will save time and nerves in the shop.

regards
Torsten

Hey Torsten I didn't know Steve was retired? Probably just tired, he uses it in all of his videos probably wears him out doing all that spraying. LOL

Seriously now. What is sticker? I'm not familiar with the term. Are they labels?
Gabby

Ok I didn't read all the posts before replying. I've used clear satin label "paper" but it is pretty expensive around a $1.00 per sheet 8 1/2 by 11 inches.
The adhesive shelf paper sound interesting, Does it have a peel off backing I'm guessing it does?

hi,i,m a newbee very impressed by so many kind & helpful people. lookin for a seagull intarsia pattern, not the typical "bird on a post" but perhaps some birds flying down to feed

Try a search online for photos of seagulls, and if you find what you like put a copy of it here for those gifted people to work with. Make sure it isn't copy-righted!

I cove rthe piece of wood with clear packing tape and then adhere the pattern to the tape.  When done cutting remove the tape very easily.  Quick and clean removal.

Dumb newbie asks. What would happen if you put the clear packing tape on, then lay the pattern over it and tape it again with the clear packing tape?

Here is a link to a page where you can see what it looks like.

Do a search or 2 and see what else it looks like, I'm sure you'll find some products made from it.

I watch a little TV mostly educational  ;) but a lot of them refer to KM which I think is 7/10's of a mile.  Is that correct?

Here is whar the conversion table showed!
1 kilometer = 0.621 371 192 24 mile

Yep Gabby, I be he.  Did you ever get a saw?  If so, what kind?
[/quote]
Yes Chuck I did. A good Samaritan sent me a Delta  40-540 in great condition, wouldn't even let me pay for shipping. I have it set up in my carport and haven't been able to practice since the snows and cold weather set in. Paybacks for crowing about the great weather we had been having up until then.
Welcome to the FAMILY great people here, I hardly go to the other forum because this one is so welcoming and full of information. The other is dead by comparison.

A lot of really nice things have been made from the skeleton of the Cholla cactus (say choy a) things like knife handles and cool looking lamps. Large floor lamps have been made from the Saguaro skeleton. Most cacti have hollow cylindrical lattice like woody skeletons. Most cacti are protected and the only way to get the "wood" is to look for naturally dead plants that the soft parts have rotted away from leaving the wood.
