The Coffee Shop / Re: Me and Mike Not sleeping together
« on: April 04, 2011, 09:07:36 pm »
Guess what Judy?  Just got home from the Drs and I also will have surgery on the 14th.   They provide a hospitality room for the evening before for two of us so don't have to get quite as early for a 5:30 check in.

I feel for you Judy.  I am going thru the same thing.  Every time I think we are ready, he wants another test and of course they are booked so have to wait another week or two.  Finally got the echo stress test completed and last Tues. and another CT Scan.  Was fine but that dye they use sure messes up the plumbing.  Have an appointment Mon with the surgeon and like you said, they want a picture ID and copay.

I don't know how Steve did it but beware if you don't want your images posted on this site.  I think his latest is from a photo in my family album.

I used to take both but now only take Creative Woodworks and Crafts as the other one got too heavy into intarsia and not enough fretwork.  It was too expensive when you seldom found a pattern that was useful.

You can often find frames at thrift stores or resale shops.

Sounds like a local store policy.  I get the discount and they don't even ask to see my card.

My thoughts are with you.  I know how much the support of this family means.

Would it be possible to make some of the plaques for the unit and present them in his name?

Hang in there.  Either you'll die and it won't make any difference or things will get better and you'll go on.  Does that cheer you up?

I actually passed the test.  Had a bad moment when the tech doing the ultrasound frowned and said she didn't have enough contrast.  Wound up with an IV and something injected that seemed to work.  Did the walking part fine and got another injection before I quit then more ultrasound.  The Dr. said everything looked good except my heart rate dropped too fast when I got off the treadmill.
Now I get to wait til the 29th for the CT scan.

I may need all the luck I can find today as have to do an "Echo Stress Test".  I can usually handle the walking fine but the last time they took pictures, I didn't do so well and wound up getting an angiogram.  If that's not bad enough, they called yesterday and I have to have another CT Scan which they can't do until the end of the month.  This whole process is getting to me.  I feel like my life is on hold for months and can't plan anything.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: The Best Blade to Use....

Danny, I have done a lot of production cutting (1000 pieces) and have found that a stack of 4 or 5 of 1/8" is the most efficient.  I prefer 4.  Cutting more than that slows you down enough that you can get as many done with shorter stacks in the same amount of time and use fewer blades.  My rule of thumb when stacking is no more than 3/4" total.

You are a whiz Paul.  Just plant an idea in your head and out comes a pattern.  Thanks so much for all you do.
