I always thought you were kinda "half baked"", maybe they're just finishing the job.

Take care of yourself Gabby!  You don't need to stress yourself.

Welcome to the swamps Golfman.  If you are headed up St Pete way, send me a message.  August and September are about our worst months for the heat, so after that it will be better for you.  Takes a while for the blood to thin out, but you will love it once you acclimate.  I have been here over 30 years now and never consider moving north again.

I doubt that it would be a problem, but walnut has some toxicity.  Probably fine if you limit how much you include.  I have made most of mine with maple.

There is a real sense of satisfaction derived from taking a piece of rough cut lumber, jointing a face and an edge, resawing it to the desired thickness, planning it to thickness, and then building a project from that milled wood.  I always start out with rough cut.  Save your cutoffs & scraps for your grill or smoker.

I have had two different models of the RBI Hawk scroll saw and if I found myself in the market for a new saw, I would search CL until I found another RBI (and they aren't that hard to find).

I have one and have used it several times for people wishing to use credit cards to pay for the concealed weapons classes I teach.  There have been no problems and it has worked quite well.

It takes roughly 1 year per inch of thickness for a board to air dry to a stable, usable product.

Nothing is foolproof, but our two 125lb dogs are a pretty convincing security system for anyone attempting to enter.

I have one I would give you if you were near St Petersburg, Fl, but I don't think it would be worth the cost to ship it.  I removed the workbenches from my shop.  My tools take up all the room and I tended to just pile stuff on the benches anyway.

Hate to hear that GB!  My last motorcycle wreck shattered my right kneecap so I feel for you.

I really hate to hear that!  Dan has been a foundation stone of this forum for a long long time.  I value his opinions and advice.

I cook on the grill (Big Green Egg) several nights a week.  Last night was jamaican jerk pork chops with red beans and rice.  Mmmmm!  Like the tongs!

I think I would go with maple.  No particular reason, but it is tough, light colored and tight grained.  It also helps that I have a good supply.

I have several routers GB but that is the model I dedicated to my table and it has never let me down.  I have used it with large bits (raised panel doors) as well as for pattern and inlay.  It's a good one!
