Very nicely done.  You should have seen the first one I ever did ... it became the first piece of designer firewood I created!  Seriously though keep up the great work.

Danish Oil like Tung Oil and BLO will harden if exposed to the air for too long a time sunlight also tends to speed the process. So you can keep it in a plastic container but you need to keep it covered.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Using Sprial Blades.... :+}
« on: November 02, 2012, 12:35:15 am »
Using spirals is an art, however once you get used to how they cut there are cuts that before you would use a flat blade now you will be like why use a flat blade a spiral will cut this much easier.  I find that I have to unwind the ends about 1 inch so that my blade will fit easier in the guides.  I also find that they cut real thick woods easier than flat blades without the tendency to curve and bow dutting the cut.   High tension, light feed pressure and practice are the key.  In my opinion that is :)

General Scroll Saw Talk / Great Deal
« on: October 31, 2012, 08:14:49 pm »
Tonight I purchased a cedar chest ( 8 foot x 10 foot x 7 foot x 1.4 thick ).  Yes they paneled a whole room with cedar; walls and ceiling.  I got the whole thing for just $40. It will take me a little while do disassemble it into useful pieces but doable.  Each piece is tongue and groove and is 2 inches wide and 1/4 inch thick and various lengths from 1 foot to 3 feet.  Looks like I am going to be making a LOT of cedar things in the near future;)

 I have a 10x magnifier headset for those small of things.  Working with out it drives me crazy - my bifocals really play tricks at times. :)
