I'm with Rog.  I had my shop in the basement for years with the house gas furnace without a problem and I am not very good about cleaning out the sawdust.

You didn't say how you kept the stack together.  I still use the painter's tape to hold the stack and it peels right off so still prefer that.

Hey GB, I went to college in Hays, KS.  Also, while in Estes Park be sure to visit the Stanley House hotel.  It was the setting for Steven King's book "The Shining".  Stayed there once and it was interesting.

Hey GB, I concur.  I dropped my subscription some time ago.  I enjoyed the magazine but found that I wasn't using the patterns and I am not into intarsia.  I also had contacted them but was told also that they had to cater to their audience.  I have copies going back to 94 so have quite a few patterns.

Hey Marg, I'm with you.  I haven't turned on the saw for weeks.  Have all kinds of projects that need doing but can't seem to care.  Part of my problem is health I know.  Am going in tomorrow for an angiogram as my nuclear stress test shows that I may have some blockage and if so, they will put in stints.  Hopefully, I will start feeling better and want to do something.

Just before your posting, I was sitting here listening to the tornado siren and lots of thunder and lightening.  Along with that we got some hail, a lot of wind and 3.5" of rain.  Sure doesn't make for a peaceful sleeping night.

A wild night.  Spent last evening listening to the tornado sirens going off but fortunately all we got was wind, rain and some hail.
OK definitely needs our prayers.  Rescue teams from here are already there and truckloads of supplies will be leaving today.  We have a group called Convoy of Hope that warehouses supplies and then go wherever there are disasters.

It is

The Coffee Shop / Re: outrageous shipping cost to NL Canada

USPS should be cheaper.  I had one customer that lived close to the border and had orders shipped to a friend on the US side and would drive across and pick it up.

Ahhh! I remember it well and wouldn't trade growing up then for anything.  We lived on a farm and the old house had a shower but to get to it you had to go outside and around the side of the house where it was in a basement room.  Not too bad in the summer but terrible in the winter.  Although sometimes in the summer you found other occupants looking for a cool spot as there was no door.  It was more fun to grab a bar of soap and head for the creek.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Small routers or what?
« on: April 20, 2013, 09:42:41 am »
I have several routers that are really just cheap 1/4" that I picked up used.  Have them mounted in plywood cubes that I made as I don't like changing bits.  Be sure to get some carbide bits.

They opened one in Osage Beach and made one trip to see what they had.  Did pick up some shelving they had on sale after having to wait while they unloaded it or something.  They didn't have the Dremel attachment I wanted.  I also found out that a lot of their sale prices involve a rebate that is only good in their store.

It makes great animal bedding.  I know a guy who made more from the planer shavings than from his cedar projects.
