I think the problem with a lot of the franchise dealers they know nothing about scroll-sawing and probably not much about woodcraft and this is their problem near enough is close enough, and it would be great if this chap from Axminster joined the forum and would answer some of the questions we all need to know about our saws

I think that size blade is to big as you can not turn tight corners, I use a #3 for puzzles and cut 20mm no trouble, I run the saw at around half speed, but you have to keep the blade square all the time you are cutting do not push the wood through let the blade do the cutting

Thanks for the compliments every one, the pattern is in the latest scroll saw magazine as is the snow flake puzzle, the frog pond took around 3 hours to cut and paint, it was fun and I enjoyed it although the assembly was not that easy I had to get the pattern to put it together

Your rite there Dan and you also have to take in to consideration of where you are going to sell at fairs retailers or to friends and neighbors. I do as Dan does look at a project and price it at what I would like to buy it for, I cut some frog pond puzzle and they took 3 hours with painting, I put a price of $30 on them and sold one to a friend I showed

I hope you have all these notes written down Dan as it is up to you to get all these good ideas to the manufacturers so they can see where they have gone wrong

Iggy my saw was made in Asia and it was great for 14 month and them a main bearing went and unfortunately the NZ agents are hopeless possibly because they are 650km away and it is not easy trying to explain to some over the phone when they wont listen to the problem, they repaired the machine but it is not what it was before the bearing went.
By the way most cars that are made today come out of Asian countries, or their components

If you like the pattern Dan I will post it, it is hand drawn so if you wish to cut then you have to keep a straight line
