I would hunt him down..........

To thank him for the great experience he has given quite a few people,
myself included and start cutting the zillion patterns he has made for us. Maybe even try to design a few of my own in CorelDraw.

Interesting topic:
After going through the replies, I tend to agree with Torsten
This is what I was thinking all along
If the scratches do not affect the outcome, why bother with it.
What do you guys/gals do with your other tools?
I'm sure they have nicks, dents and scratches on them too
