Becky if you cut a fraction outside the line you can sand it free hand to the line on a disc sander, I find this is the eariest way, try it

I use a domestic vac I had given to me, ther is a plastic pipe on the side that I put the vac hose in, the noise factor is not bad, I have tried a small heat exchange fan with a 4" hose with filrter, that wasnt  to bad, the vac is a lot better.
The glasses you see Graybeard are a stronger reading glasses I use for finer work, not sunnies

The the new saw I have bought does not have a dust extracter port and I found dust was every where down my trousers all over the floor and the work shop so I have made an extraction box that has a vac plugged into it, the base id screwed to the stand nad the sides and front are removable, they are held by a hole I have drilled and an nail inserted on the left hand side, if you are haveinfg a dust problem try it it cost nothing to make only a small amount of time, here are couple of pics

I hope members listened to your remarks on marketing thier stuff at fairs or where ever, most people are
looking for a bargain at these show BUT if you have what they want they will pay the $$, most of my shows fall pre christmas so I have to look at stuff suitable for gifts and people are looking more at the cheaper things.
Position is also a factor at fairs I have the same spot at every fair I go to every year this way people know where to find me, if you are at an inside venue always try to get the position on the left side of the hall, about  5 stalls in, this is always the best spot in this situation, my prices range from $2 to $70 and I sell more of the lower priced items, my average sale on a good day is $35 per customer,
I have enclosed a couple of pics from our clubs annual exabition and sales month

You can make it perfectly round on a lathe, but after it is cut the wood may move, unless it is ply and glued on the cross, wood moves after is cut on the long grain not so much on the end grain, make sence?
