Do you mean a 2-3/4" bezel for a 2-3/8" hole?  If so, Lee Valley has them, with the 2-3/8" drill, here.

You mentioned TFF files, I believe these are True Type Fonts.  Usually they come as zip files but as you call them TFF files, I assume they are unzipped. This http://www.fonts.com/support/faq/install-truetype-fonts-windows-7 will help you install the files - scroll down towards the bottom for a step by step.

These instructions [urlhttp://www.dafont.com/faq.php[/url] from dafont might also help.

Good luck,
Jim

Pattern Requests. / Re: Could anyone help with a photo to pattern
« on: April 25, 2015, 11:51:17 am »
I understand why it is necessary to reduce the space required for the site - to save server costs  - but I do miss all the images in the pattern section

Sometimes I would like to take my copy of a pattern that catches my eye, but it I have to go off-site to see even a thumbnail, I'm less likely to take a follow the link.  That's me, and I'm sure others follow every off-site link.

Perhaps a compromise could be made, something like reducing the maximum size of any posted image (perhaps even to thumbnail size) with the option to link to a larger off-site image.  Then if you are interested, you cold follow the link off-site.  Even that requires each poster to have set up an off-site location and some might be able to do that, for one reason or another.

As has been mentioned, I hope a solution can be found.

The Coffee Shop / New Lee Valley hand plane design
« on: April 02, 2015, 08:22:07 am »
Lee Valley is showing a new design/selection system for a custom hand plane.  http://www.leevalley.com/US/wood/page.aspx?p=72875&cat=1,230,41182,48944.  Don't forget to click the link below the video.

What do you think of it?

Brian, the 40-690 and the Dewalt DW788 are identical.  If you can find the corresponding part for the 788, it will fit your 690.

Good luck,

Ask Steve a question. / Re: Problem in tha forum
« on: March 08, 2015, 06:00:17 pm »
It seems that, if there is a thumbnail attached to a post, I can click on thumbnail and it will enlarge.  If the thumbnail is accompanied by a link to a larger picture, I can open that as well.

BUT, if there is a link but no thumbnail, then I get the error message when I try to open the link.  Has anyone else noticed this?

Perhaps this observation will  to useful Steve, our hard working, and much appreciated, leader.

Deleted cookies and cache, logged out and signed back in but still can't see the image here http://stevedgood.com/community/index.php?topic=18440.0

I do remember that I had seen this particular image when it was first posted.

It was worth a try.

It seems some people can see the posted pics and others can't.  For example, some can see the pic attached here http://stevedgood.com/community/index.php?action=post;topic=18446.0;last_msg=168850 but I get the 404 error.

I wonder if the problem is related to the operating system, the browser, or . . . .

For the record, I am using Windows 7 Pro, 64 bit and the latest version of Firefox (36.0.1).

I have a suspicion that my problem might be related to Firefox.  Is anyone using an earlier version and can you see the attached pictures?
Jim

Edit: But I can see the images in this post http://stevedgood.com/community/index.php?topic=18462.0.  Perhaps it has to do with how the picture is attached.  In this post there is both the image thumbnail and the link to the larger image.

I see all the avatar in this post.  I wonder if it is a browser specific problem.  I'm using the latest Firefox.
