Pattern Requests. / Re: Penguin Holiday Ornament
« on: November 16, 2012, 02:18:00 pm »
Hi, Folks. I worked on a penguin ornament last week and thought some of you might like to cut it for the holidays. Makes a nice give a way for the season and is easy to cut. I stack cut mine from 1/8 birch plywood. I then spray painted them with different colors of satin paint and in some cases sprinkled with sparkle. You can download the pattern the free page on my website, listed below.

Computer questions / Re: printer recommendation
« on: November 16, 2012, 01:05:19 pm »
Hello,

Looking to buy a new printer. I'm not real computer savy so my main concern is a printer that doesn't use a lot of ink. The one I own now seems to be an ink hog.

Any recommendations from you fellow scrollers ?

  Thanks

stay away from ink jet printers  MY recommendation is a  laser printer   this one works for me I know the toner cost is high but its worth it and last a long time  the brand I have is a cannan imageclass d420

No, your wrong SG. I spoke with a DeWALT rep a few weeks ago. All is fine! The 40-695 is Delta's current  saw. Delta is no longer part of Black And Decker which is the parent Co. Of DeWALT.

i see now they have change it.
they are not going to discontinue the dw788 now.

Good news from DeWalt! We received an e-mail this morning notifying us that, contrary to our report in the Holiday issue, the DW788 saw is still in production and available. According to DeWalt's director of sales, "DEWALT (owned by StanleyBlack&Decker) has NO Plans to discontinue the DW788 Scroll Saw. It is a great seller for us and we are very proud of the Quality and Customer Satisfaction of the DEWALT DW788 Scroll Saw." We regret the error.

Per our review, we still think the Delta 40-695 is a terrific saw, but it should be considered for its own merits, not as a successor to the DW788.

For those who don't know, and we didn't, DeWalt and Delta are now separate companies developing their own product lines. You can check out DeWalt's saws at (DEWALT | Power Tools, Contractor Tools and Accessories) and visit Delta at (Delta? Power Equipment Corporation - Home).

my saw has been loosening on the mechanism that tightens the blade, slipping and hard to get tight. Finally it gave  up and will now have to replace the parts that are stripped. Has anyone ever done this? Is it worth it. I called Dremel and they are sending a parts list so I can order the part, they no longer make scrollsaws but do have parts still. I would love to try to explain how I need a new saw to my wife...it is Christmas,  ::) almost but of coarse I'll need it early, I still have many projects on hold for the holidays.   Pete

give ray a call the website is www.seyco.com/saws.html the phone number is on their website.
they have excalibur 21" scroll saw works lot better then the dewalt and the delta 60-695 scroll saw..

I don't know how to fix your problem but I do hope there is something big and yellow under an early Christmas tree for you. Scroll sawing is sanity mantainence (when the saw is working good).

Dewalt has discontinue making the dw788 and no longer making scroll saws  The replacement scroll saw now is the delta 40-695.

« on: September 18, 2012, 03:52:58 pm »
I am using Windows 7.  I am able to open other Adobe files, just not this one.  Thought I would wait until Steves sends another download and hopefully the next one will work.  If not, I will need to do some checking and get it fixed.

have you update adobe reader?  if so then you could have a virus on your computer that is block some of the pdf files from opeping up.

Try uninstalling adobe reader and then reinstall the newest adobe reader

Is anyone else having trouble with firefox?  It keeps crashing and will not let me stay on long enough to accomplish anything.

Have you update your anti-virus software and anti-spyware software.   You might have a trojan virus on your system also known as malware.

Get Vipre internet security 2013 and it well clean up your system and run faster. i'll bet that you got a virus.

« on: September 13, 2012, 06:51:03 pm »
I have got the new vipre internet security 2013 antivirus software.
I have install this on my computer what I had before wast the free anti-virus software for years It was telling me it had virus but the AVG could not remove and I use the online virus  scan and it remove 4 but the vipre nail the one virus and it speed up my computer and internet.  This kick butt.. I would get it and along with vipre is to get win cleaner one click both hand in hand well make your life easy. now I don't have to worry about virus getting into my computer anymore.  you paid once for the vipre and lifetime protection for ever.

i'm done with free stuff this is a great deal.

If you want to get it I would get the one for 10 pc lifetime protection at www.hsn.com

That one virus that vipre got I was looking for that one virus manual and that was a pain in the butt after it cought it  I came across that virus but I didn't think it was a virus but it was.
