The melamine may be too thick to allow you to use reverse tooth blades effectively.  The reverse teeth are just on the ends of a reverse tooth blade.

I stand corrected.   :-\   However I still think his problem is the current spirals he is using.

That is the culprit.  Spirals are notorious for fuzzies they can't make reverse teeth on a spiral blade.

Well done.  I usually use method number 3.  However have used all of them.  Thanks for sharing.

I've never had good luck with lesley's...& the wooden teddy bear has atrocious shipping charges.  Perhaps if we as a collective complained to them about their shipping fees for blades they would re-consider how much they charge.

Who told you that you could not glue over paint?  Although it is not the preferred method, you certainly can glue over a painted surface.  It will not be as strong a joint as clear wood but for scrolling purposes it will work just fine.

The designs are copyrighted but I have that book and you can make and sell the projects just not the designs.

Ask Steve a question. / Re: holder for older craftsman saw

Kay,
Try to be a little more specific.  You mean a blade clamp/holder?  What manufacturer (craftsman I see by the title of thread) and model scroll saw is it?  There should be a tag near the motor that will give model number and manufacturer of the saw.

The IRS will only let you operate a failing business for 5 years max and then you can no longer file a tax return as a business.  Failing means claiming more expenses than sales in our case.  If you sell anything you are supposed to claim it as income.  This does not mean it is a business you can claim income and remain a hobby.  It is up to you to decide if it is a business or a hobby but either way they want their due.
If it is a hobby you cannot claim the expenses or so I was told.
