To burn or not to burn..... what was the question. I think it adds character,  to known that this piece it is unique makes it more valuable. Anyone can cut the pattern but not like this one. I say "KEEP it" ;D

God is good, and prayers do get answered. I hope you don't have to experience an event like that again.

If you did that to your own fingers what would you do to someone elses? ;D Besides you still have 7 or 8 good ones. That is the lighter side, Did I make you smile. :D Seriously, I hope you have a complete recovery.   My greatest fear is getting caught up in a saw or router, burrrrr at the thought. I get the chills when I think of it. You are down at the moment but not out of the game.
Good luck ;)

I live on the Avalon Peninsula, east coast of Newfoundland, about as far away from BC as you can get in Canada. I buy my 1" stock at Kent in St John's they have a great assortment maybe 10-15 different types of exotic hardwoods. Also we have Provincial Hardwoods in St John's. I don't know the numbers but if you Google it I am sure you will get contact info.

Pattern Requests. / End of school year pattern
« on: April 24, 2011, 07:01:46 pm »
Hi Folks, I am looking for a fretwork pattern that would depict the end of the 2010-11 school year.  Nothing complicated, something that I could cut to give to my department members to show my appreciation for their hard work this year. Any takers ;) Thanks.

::)Thanks GrayBeard, that is something I didn't think about. I have been using this switch for about 6 months now and seens to have adjusted well to it. I don't need to stand on the switch, just tap on or tap off, like the old dimmer switches for Hi or Low beam headlights. Any one remember them?? :D

I use one of these foot switches that is built into an expension cord. Switch  is press for on and press for off. I attached the switch to a piece of 1/2 plywood about 6X6 inch in size then I plugged the saw, a light and an old fashioned electric clock into the plug-in. This works very well for me and I can time my cutting on a project. ;D

Very nice job on the first piece, it does get easier. I find the challenge in what to raise and what to lower, which colors to use but that is the art of intarsia. No matter what, all pieces are beautuful because no two are alike, everything is unique. You just add your own touch to each creation. Keep up the good work ;)
