Well dgman I shall say I will purchase the needed products and give it a try and see what happens.  Having a small inside area to work with bothers me if by using your method and having to let the project set and dry for as you say 3 to 5 days would be a problem....BUT....I will attempt it and down the road I will let ya's know how things worked out.  Thanks again  Danny :+}

And NewToScroll....Thank you for your kind words....  Keep on posting and remember there IS NOT A STUPID question.  I learned....  Danny  :+}

Hey dgman....All I can say is Wow!  Where have I been for all these years with doin the same ole thing year n and year out with the way I mentioned.
Can you please explain the BOILED LIMESEED MIXTURE TO ME??  And also the rattle can lacquer and the reason for using a brown bag??  Guess what a person learns years ago stays as the way, but I have been reading your posts and I kind of am aware that you are some type of teacher in our craft.
....SO....  I really feel deep in my heart that its time for me to learn a different way to finish my projects.  And P.S. I see that you live in the beautiful state of California and I would guess that you experience better Scrolling whether than we do here in Alabama.  Looking very much forward to reading your next post.  Later....  Danny  :+}

Hi Russ....After sleeping on all this information I remember the OLD engines that did have some vaccume hoses that controled different things, but would a 1999 use the same principle?  Where would I look to investigate a vaccume hose in the A/C assembly?  All of you have been very helpfull and I thank each of you.  Danny  :+}

Howdy EVERYONE....I have read and re-read all suggestions and think I need the night to digest all.  I have a strong feeling that what you all are telling me will some how lead me to the answer to fix my problem.  Like some one said more than likely I will have to spend money to have a person fix my problem.  Anyway....its....Friday and lets all have a real, real good evening.  Later....  Danny  :+}

Have tried all the methods for securing a pattern onto the wood and I find that the 2 inch painters tape works the best.  No clear packing tape either.
Just my feelings tho.  Danny  :+}

A Big Thank You to all that offered advice.  I successfully cut a ornament that had 21 inside cuts.  Took your advice with stacking only 4.  Experimented with 8 on scrap and Yep bottom layer was not to good.
And after my experments and your advice it is and will be the FD-UR #5 for all over-all cuts.  Tks again....  Danny  :+}

General Scroll Saw Talk / The Best Blade to Use....
« on: March 10, 2011, 04:04:16 pm »
I know you all say there is no Dumb question, but I am getting into a new phase of scroll projects.  Using 1/8" Baltic Birch Ply.
     Is there a formula of which blade to use for how many is stacked?
My blade chart states to use a #5 or #6 (haven't even heard of a #6) for
1/2" wood.  I use FD blades and kind of want to stack 8 and the chart states to use a #7.  Wow!  My #7 is pretty aggressive.  Can't imagine cutting the tiny lil inside cuts with this.  Anyway I would just Love to hear all of your feelings.  Thanks in Advance....  Danny  :+}

Tutorials, Techniques and Tips / Re: Sanding a Blank
« on: March 08, 2011, 12:38:58 pm »
Hey dg....Got away from attaching my pattern by using temp. spray glue to the wood blank, but can remember having to clean the top of the finished cutting with minerial sperits and had to do some more final sanding.  Way to much needless work for me.  Now I just apply good ole 2inch painters tape to the wood blank (after I have sanded to 220 grit) and use permanent spray glue to back of pattern and top of painters tape.
When finished cutting just peel the tape along with whats left over of the pattern and the wood blank is still ready to go.  Just my 2 cents.Danny:+}
