It's good to see another Wisconsiner has joined. I'm from the west coast of Wisconsin - Onalaska (near Lacrosse).

Thank you all for your postive comments. I really enjoy cutting these "crazy" patterns. Kerry Hallam is a very talented pattern designer and I've cut several of his other patterns. For those of you interested in this one it's available in the Spring 2009 issue of Scroll Saw Woodworking & Crafts. Thanks again for all your kind words!

I just finished this great picture of a stalking leopard. The pattern is by Kerry Hallam and was taken from the Scroll Saw Woodworking magazine. I cut it on an 11X14 Baltic Birch, stack of 3. I used flat blades, just can't seem to get used to spirals. Can't tell you how long it took because I don't keep track of my time. There aren't a whole lot of difficult cuts in this , just a lot of them. Hope you like it.

What a great loss to the scrolling community. I talked to Ray & Dan several times at the Richland Center picnics I've attented. I probably pestered them with some of my questions, but they always gave me helpful answers and great advice. I purchased many patterns from them. I've sold many of thier micro-mini clocks. I will keep Betty, Dan & family in my prayers.

Don't know if anyone remembers Red Green and his old show on TV, but he always ended his show with the saying - "Keep your stick on the ice". I'm not much at patterns, so I was wondering if someone would make a patttern for this. I would like it as a standup piece for a desk, maybe with a hockey stick somewhere on it. Thank you in advance.

Thanks for all the kind words. I've got to say that this isn't actually the hardest piece to cut, but it does take a lot of time.

Thanks again,

I entered my cutting of "Battle Cry", a pattern by Kerry Hallam, in our local Interstate fair and won the "Best of Show" in the woodworking category. I've never entered any contest like that before. I put in 3 items in 3 different catagories and won a 1st place in each, but I was surprised and pleased to win this award. I've had this cutting at a couple of shows lately and it sure does draw some attention. Hope you like it.

What a fantastic cutting. Can you give us some details? Length, width, did you cut seperate panels then put them together? Thank you for showing us the finished work.
