General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: top-vs-bottom feeders
« on: May 09, 2011, 11:42:11 am »
When you talk about feeding the blade down thru the top of the wood don't you have problems with connecting the bottom of the blade to its bracket?
I know I sure would.  I am referring to a Hegner.  Highly un-heard to me as the blades have a special holder that needs to be completely off the saw to secure.  Then they kind of snap back into place.  Hey Julie you have a Hegner and you say you top feed.  Can you tell me how you do it?  Anyway back to the topic.  I have always fed the blade thru the bottom of the wood.

Me also Frank are very sorry to hear about your accident.  Heres a lil story.
Know the old saying about cutting something?  Measure twice and cut once.

Well I designed a sign that I keep either hanging in various locations of my shop and work area.  It says Think Twice about what I am doing and always Stay Safe.  Hey it works.  Later....  Danny  :+}

Good :-) Morning to ALL....
     I want to thank you all for you concern.  Gee it sure is GOOD to have so many Scrollin Friends.  Well fortunitly the area I live in was spared.  There was so, so much distruction eleswheres.  I am sure you all have been keeping up with the news about it all.  We were with out power for a lil over four days and it was a different way of dealing with the everyday things.  This is the first time the power was out for this long.  Normal was maybe a few hours.  The need for ICE was the most thought about from day today.  Charcole was a close second.  We had a gas grill so was able to cook the meats etc. Kind of enjoyed getting up normal at 5 am and heating my tea kettle with water for a few cups of coffee.  My Mom lives approx. a quarter mile from me and she is 84 years young, so I would take a thermost with hot water for her to use for her coffee etc.  Gas for the cars was a huge problem.  Long, long lines everywheres.  Generators were a real big seller and I tell you the noise they make is awful in the middle of the night.  We did not buy one.  Well the power came on last night (Sunday) at 8:20 pm and I couldn't believe that all my neighbors came outside as we did and we all cheered and kind of huged.  Was like New Years eve.  Someone across the street even had fire works.  Was really cool.  There are still areas without power, but news is all will have it by late Wednesday.
     Well again I want EVERYONE to know that his Forum we are part of is like
a part of my family.  Later....  Danny  :+}

« on: April 10, 2011, 06:21:15 pm »
Hi Peoples....  One of my Daughters birthday is coming up soon and she has requested a sort of serving tray.  Steve has a few designs which I would like to follow....  Guess basically this might be for our designers.  Seems she wud like say a rectangle with sides being 16 inches and ends being 8 inches.  Maybe heigth being say 3 inches.  Her likes wud be flowers, leaves, trees and dogs.  I wud dearly LOVE to have a pattern to cut for her.  Thank all of you....  Danny  :+}

Hi Tim....There is a BIG improvement over the two.  The BEST one is using the FLAT blade.  Both look really good, but this is my opinion.  Hey I never got used to the spiral blades.  Later  Danny  :+}
