If you seal the ends and stack them with splitters the rule of thumb is about a year an inch of thickness from what I have heard.

Mytoya: I googled that font and have not been able to locate it.  Can you give us your source?  It really is a good font.

Around here if you leave anything in your trunk for an hour, it's dead when you come back (and well-done to).  We don't dry our wood in kilns, we just put the boards in the trunk for the day.  On the other hand, December is shirtsleeve weather.

I tried a router speed control on a drill press (the variable speed circuit board has crashed)  I could control the speed, however when the speed decreased, so did the power.  I'm not sure how big a factor this might play with a scroll saw.

Sounds like we have a lot in common Russ, but you left out Jimmy Buffett.  My Ipod is mostly country as well.  Some of the new stuff is great to ie: Zach Brown, Sugarland, Lady Antebellum.

I use an Ipod classic with 80 gig drive.  I have a few thousand songs on it.  I have a dock in my garage shop so I can take it out there & play music as long as I want to stay out.  I sync it, but that is because I manually manage the directories I let it sync.

I didn't use regular food coloring.  It is the coloring intended to use is cake icing.  You have to make it a little stronger than your first impression, but it is inexpensive and I haven't found it worth saving.  Perhaps if you were dying a whole bunch of projects, but I usually only do a few at a time.

Looks good.  You might add a clock with all 5's on the dial.  Jimmy buffett and Alan Jackson would be proud of you.

If you don't have access to a bandsaw, how about a router table.  Circle cutting jigs for router tables work well and are easy to come by.

Thanks guys.  Crusty, I thought of painting them to, but I felt it might be better to use a food safe product since they would be in contact with the gum (at least inside).  I read somewhere else about using cake icing dye mixed with alcohol and decided to give it a try.  I gave them to the kids at Christmas and they haven't faded yet.  I made them out of poplar, so the colors are a little blotchy, but it seems fairly appropriate to the project.  I have had several requests and have made a few more since then and everybody seems to want the colors.  I think your in natural wood looks great to!

Good Job!  I made a few for my Grankids and dyed them with cake decorating dye dissolved in alcohol.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Pozgai's balde clamps

Mike - I sent an email to Bushton and got a reply today.  They have not changed the clamps since purchasing the line, but may in the future.  Just thought I'd post it here in case anyone else has the same question.  Thanks for the idea, it was worth pursuing.
