If you have a windows based pc, then you have a program called "Paint" in the accessories section of your programs.  Run Paint, open the picture you want to upload, select resize and then either indicate you want to use 640 by 480 pixels, or just adjust the size until it is what you want.  Save the picture with a new name so as not to replace the original.  Look the picture up in windows explorer and right click on it, then choose properties and it will tell you the size of the picture.  As long as it is 124kb or smaller, you will be able to upload it.  Sounds like a lot of instructions, but after you do a couple it is really easy.

There are other ways to do it, especially if you have photo editing software, but just about everybody has Paint.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Spindle Sanders

Instead of a dedicated spindle sander, I use sanders in my drill press.  I have several types and sizes, but my favorites are in different sizes and have a rubber lining on the drum and you use regular sheet sandpaper cut to fit instead of having to buy expensive sleeves.  Woodcraft carries them.  The drill press also gives me more control over the speed.

Looks good Janet!  Last year I made a few Halloween cutouts and painted them black, but then I sprayed them with a coat of glow-in-the-dark paint and the kids loved it.  I bought several cans the year before on clearance after the holiday at Joann's.  You might give it a try.

Good for you Janet!  My wife loves hers for embroidery and counted cross stitch.

Just don't build up mulch beds too deep or wide around a foundation.  It is possible for subterranean termites to use the mulch to avoid treated areas of soil and find a way into your house (not likely, but possible).

GB,  Like Eclipsescroller I bought one a little over a year ago.  Then when they had the recal I opted to get my money back instead of a replacement.  The unit was pretty nice, but the light from a round flourescent is brighter and the lens is a little bigger in diameter.  I had an ocassional problem with breaking the bulb on the flourescent when the was a blade breakage, so I just cut a doughnut out of acrylic and mounted it under the bulb as a protective barrier.  Bottom line: I liked the Rockler, but prefer the flourescent.

The Coffee Shop / pc question regarding the forum
« on: July 29, 2010, 12:41:41 am »
I have this forum marked as a favorite on at least 3 computers.  My main pc died this weekend, and I replaced it.  Great machine, but for some reason when I click on "show unread posts since last visit",  I see zero posts, even though when I go to the home page there are boards with unread topics.  This is the only pc that does that even though they are all using the same login info and the same browser.  The only obvious difference is that the others run on xp and this one is on windows 7.  I can live with it, but I can't figure it out.  Any ideas? :-\
