Becky, Roger is correct, however if you did want to glue glass to wood for some reason the best way is with silicone adhesive.  The silicone stays somewhat flexible so the difference in movement between the two materials due to temp and humidity won't cause the joint to fail.  The same thing is used to glue up an all glass aquarium.

Tomorrow afternoon I will get the chance to meet both Russ and Triple B at the Woodworking Show in Tampa.  Russ was kind enough to message me and invite the hook up since we both live in the Tampa Bay area, just at opposite sides of the region.  How exciting!  I get to go to the wood show again, and I get to shake hands with those two. ;D

Here is a link to a video from Steve Ramsey on building a thumb piano: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8qyD1Apbnk  It might be just what you are looking for.

Their website is still functional.  Maybe you could give them a call at the number online and ask about your order.  I have been using RBI saws for years and I think they are great!

Personally I use dado blades to cut dados and grooves, but I use my router table and jig for box joints.  With spiral solid carbide bits I can do 1/4 3/8 or 1/2 inch joints.  The jig I use came from Woodline.  I can't locate it on their website, but if you give them a call they may be able to help.  I use backing boards, but find almost no tearout with the router table jig.

Can you drill it, tap it, and put in a set screw?

I have had 2 different models of Hawk.  My current one is a 26".  I love it and am pleased to see that Bushton mfg is bringing the line back to the market.  I would say the main things you should check are the condition of the motor (expensive to replace if it breaks) and the alignment of the upper arm to the bottom (just be sure they are parallel by inserting a blade and see that there is no wobble.  Anything else is pretty simple.

Whatever brand of bandsaw you get, the two important variables are the setup and the blades.  Either go to youtube and search for Alex Snodgrass's video on bandsaw setup or catch him at on of the annual woodworking shows.  He know that stuff inside and out.  He also sells videos on making bandsaw boxes and other things through Carter.  There are several blade manufacturers.  Be sure to fit the blade to your need, and don't scrimp on the cost.  I like the Carter blades, but the timberwolf blades get good reviews also.

If the spring is there it probably isn't broken.  Whenever you remove the guard you have to sort of wind the spring before you put the guard back on.  I'm guessing you are setting the guard on without winding the spring.  Play with it some more and see if it isn't ok.

Jointers are great tools!  I just upgraded from a 6" to an 8".  I do hope you got the blade guard as well.  If not, be very careful with your hands!  Let the chips fly!

I have a smaller Grizzly Russ.  Really makes a huge difference when the planner is churning out chips!

Seriously, don't beat yourself up about it!  Happens all the time.  I am in the process of building a box for my Grandaughter using contrasting glued up boards made by running pieces against a raised panel door router bit, and then gluing them together with the contrasting strip in the center.  The bottom came out fine.  I went to make a framed in raised panel top and forgot that I had attached an auxiliary board to my tablesaw fence, so I wound up cutting the raised panel 1 1/2 inches too narrow for the frame.

My last name is Murphy, so Murphy's law applies double!
