Hi Marg....  Finally someone that just can not get a white wood like the Baltic Birch to look good.  I have given up on that species for say Christmas Ornaments.  I just finished cuting stack of 4 using Maple 1/8 Ply.  They look Great.  Used a combo of BLO and spirits half n half (Dans mixture) and the grain looks great and there is even a slight shine.  Later....  Danny  :+}

Well Steven I wud suggest using a FD-UR #1.  I have found this blade to be GREAT for being able to turn corners and very easy to control.  As long as you don't decide to stack to many blanks.  Just my 2 cents.  Danny  :+}

Thank you Glenn.  I know there are some Hegner owners on our forum and probably working.  I am sure they will reply, so if you get some positive word from Hegner Holland I know all will want to read.  Danny  :+}

Went across a very short article about the blade clamps.  Sounded like maybe Hegner modified their terrible design.  Anyone know more?  Danny  :+}

Tutorials, Techniques and Tips / Re: Bent blade ends
« on: October 03, 2011, 10:42:57 am »
Well I'll be....  You guys have all confirmed my experiment lately is gonna work.  Yea!  I have had horrible problems with FD blades breaking at the top right on that lil crimp.  Long story short I really feel I have been cranking the thumb screw knob just a lil to hard.  Used the FD blades yesterday for part of a jewelery box with around 50 inside cuts and YeePeeYea....  Finished cutting it and....NO BLADE BREAKAGE....  So I will agree with the above about the bending of the top of the blade being due to the tightening.  Danny  :+}

Had a show last November.  Fairly large turn out.  A older couple stood looking at the my back wall with all the portraits.  The lady had already bought two of my stand up lil clocks and she mentioned to her husband that all them portraits must be painted.  They both just had to go up to the wall and touch them.  They both had lots of Good Compliments.  They even bought one.  Danny  :+}
