Like Russ said, power supply.  You can get the same symptoms if the hard drive is not finding the boot sector or if the jumper on a master drive has slipped off making the pc see it as a slave.

Good job!  I have done a few of these and they are always appreciated.  I never added a name though.

Forget the black eyed peas and go coastal instead.  I smoked some fish and made a batch of smoked fish spread for ;D New Years!  It went really well after the gumbo!

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Storing Wood
« on: January 03, 2011, 09:52:43 am »
I store planks and such overhead in my garage shop, small pieces destined for the scrollsaw in a box under my planer, odds and ends and cutoffs in between the studs in the garage walls, and wood I am air drying (Monkeypod, Camphor, and Indian Rosewood from local trees) in stacks with stickers in between in my storage shed outside the garage.  In other words all over the place!

Rightarm,  We have an antique "safe" with oak doors on the bottom and oak framed glass doors on the top.  In that arrangement it isn't a pie safe, it's called a "jelly safe" or so we have been told.

I'm a little late because I've been out of town, but I feel the same as everyone else Sheila.  I also enjoy reading your blog on the LJ forums.  Happy New Year!

Pattern Requests. / Re: Help Please

I am no pattern maker, but that one looks like it would be tough to do!  May I make a different suggestion?  Print out the picture to a desired size, glue it to a baker board and use one of Steve's jigsaw puzzle patterns from the pattern book to cut it into a nice jigsaw puzzle.  I did that with a picture of my granddaughter and then built an oak frame around it and really made a hit with the granddaughter and her Mom.

Ouch!  (for both of you)  Sorry to hear about that Michelle.  My German Shepard is the same way.  If he found an animal, he wouldn't have the good sense to leave it alone, no matter the cost to him.  Hopefully all will go well and there won't be any infections.  Never seen a porcupine around here, but we have our share of rattlesnakes and other creatures.

Thanks again for the lovely ornaments!

That's great Pete!  What kind of size is it?  Barbie doll size or smaller?  Very original.

Nice stuff GB.  You will make several people happy.  I so much prefer to give something I made than a "storebought" gift!

Burn wood?  You must still be under the impression that such a thing as wood scraps exist!  There are no scraps.  Only very small projects you haven't seen yet.  Someone said if it won't fit through the shop vac hose, it's too big to be a scrap.

Thanks for all the kind comments guys!  I do appreciate it.  Here is one more Christmas gift.  My Grandaughter asked me to build her a bookcase this year.  This one is birch plywood trimmed with select pine.  All done now except for a few coats of lacquer which I should be able add Sunday.  Thursday or Friday we will head to south Florida for the Holiday.  I hope she likes it.  BTW: this is just a cell phone picture.  Merry Christmas to all!
