The Coffee Shop / Your Checkbook Checkup....
« on: December 07, 2011, 07:31:37 am »
Some evening when you have a spare moment, get out your old
checkbook registers and read through the entries.  You may find it
interesting and perhaps somewhat startling, to discover just how the
money you've earned has been spent.
     The entries will read like a family history book.  They chronicle every
major event----births, deaths, and illnesses--and quite accurately reflect
your tastes, habits, and interests.
     They record your vacations, travels, and other moves.  They also tell
much about how expensively you dress or how extravagantly you eat.
The total spent in each category will pinpoint the things that make the
greatest demands on your income--either because of need or by choice.

This was very interesting to me, so I looked thru a couple check registers.
Very much a eye opener....  Danny  :+}

I'm basically a beginner, but due to the way OUR COUNTRY is going at present I would say crafts of a simple nature with not a lot of cutting where you can price ALL at a lower price.  My experience in Nov. was good with lots of Ornaments.  Two and Three bucks each will sell good.  Danny  :+}

Thanks so far for all of my Friends comments about HABITS we have....
I have boiled mine down to Superstition.  Everything has to KEEP being in its place.  Always straightening things.  Never ending thing.  LOL  Talking with GOD each morning I seem to always say the same thing.  Habit....  Driving......  Always a must to stay in the left hand lane unless turning right.  Get pissed off with the people that wait till the very last moment to veer into the TURN LANE.  Wind the windows up when a Ambulance comes blasting by.
This is just a little of the Driving subject....LOL  How bout cutting grass?
Always up n down one week and across the next.  Ok Dan....This started my Habits....  For sure gots plenty more, but will wait till down the road.  LOL

Way to go Bill.  You just never know how things will work out till it over.
     My FIRST try at selling my crafts came from my youngest daughter and her husband asking me if they could set up a table at their craft show.  They did all the work and I couldn't believe it when they handed me $400.00 from the two day sale.  Wow!  Danny  :+}

Who out there has everyday Habits?  Bet most all....   Do these doings just for example go in stride with your everyday routine?  Do you feel say for the moment that when a habit goes astray that something might be wrong?  Do you try and correct this ASAP?  Bet most all will say Hey its Old Age.  Yes?
Might be the reason.  Anyway this is just a thot.  Later....  Danny  :+}

Hey Torsten....  Couldn't believe I was reading all about the PAULOWNIA tree in your post.  Wow!  Bought one two years ago and to be honest it is not living up to its rep. with fast growing in my back yard.  Probably doesn't like where I planted it.  LOL  Mines called a Royal Paulownia.  Cool....

Roger....  I have NEVER used the Crown Tooth blades.  Do they cut as smooth as the FD-UR's which leaves hardly NO fuzz on the bottom?
I really like your way of using them.  Look forward to ur reply.  Danny  :+}

General Scroll Saw Talk / Blades cutting like cutting butter.... :+}
« on: November 27, 2011, 09:05:02 am »
Bet all have thought about when a blade has gotten to dull....
Heres my two cents....  A NEW blade will cut like if you imagined cutting thru butter....  After time you Will notice that this easy cutting has gone away.
Or when you get to the point where your having to push the wood into the blade harder than when you started.  I am sure I have been guilty of the as some projects I just wanted to get finished and kept on cutting even tho I knew it was time to change to a new blade.  Anyway....  Danny  :+}

Here's my up-date on my previous posts concerning blades breaking....
Talked with a gal named Jean who is the Customer Relation person for
A.M.I.  After experimenting with her suggestions heres what I determined.

I was tightening the lil knob way, way to tight which put a lot of presure on the blade.  Thats the exact place all my blades were breaking at.

The piece that locks the blades to was faulty.  It is 12 years old and has had lots n lots of uses  and tightenings.  I ordered a NEW one and I am HAPPY to tell yas that after approx. a week of daily cutting I have NOT had a blade break.

So to me besides replacing a worn out part my biggest trouble was myself.

And I still feel that Flying Dutchman blades are far the best out there.

Well thats about it, so will be looking forward to responses to this.
