General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: EX21 Lever Tension Problem
« on: May 08, 2013, 11:49:05 am »
There is a plastic screw in the front of the lever pivot point, this is an adjustment to lock the lever in position. I dont know the correct adjusting procedure/setting, but as you set the tension it pulls the metal clamp block up against this screw. Maybe someone here knows the correct setting procedure for it. I'll email Darren at Axminster Power Tools to see if he can send me the settings as he adjusted mine when it had same problem.

Rob, no, I wasn't reading that. was there any reason I should have been?

EIEIO,  I use #1 Flying Dutchman  Ultra reverse blades for 99% of my work. Every third tooth is reversed so it gives a fantastically clean cut with almost no need for sanding after cutting as you can see in the picture, and very little wander in long straight cuts. Occasionally I'll use a #3 blade (same type) but a #1 is my favourite blade. hope that helps.

Merlin, I cut the green one to fit where I wanted it to, them laid it on top of the red and marked the red one and cut it to fit. Once the finish has been applied to the rose I will attatch the backers with a spot or two of glue, but they will be held in place with the backer of the frame. (hope that makes sense lol)

I was asked to make a rose for someone, after a lot of sorting through various patterns I decided on this one by "Grampa", Thanks Grampa. I cut it from 3mm Birch ply and cut the backers from coloured card. there is no finish on it yet, it's just as it came off the saw. I just put it in the frame to see what it looked like. As usual all comments welcome.
Keith.
