Tony, I used to work in the eye wear businessbefore I retired.  The advances that have been made with the surgery is fantastic.  You will be astonded to really see what you have been missing, and you will need a pair of reading glasses for near vision.  The world will be brighter for yu as well, did out those nice sunglasses.

Does anybody know where I can find a pattern for a family crest.  I have found a web site for the family crest but not for a scrollsaw pattern.  The family name is "Conway".  It is my spouse family and I want to honor her mom and dad adt the family reunion in June dthis year.

Mike how did you go about introducing yourself to the hospital to get them to trust you and your work.  I am retired and I think that would be the best of both worlds, to have some thing to keep me busy and bring a little joy to the kids.

I use one that I found at Northern Tool,  It is firm but cushion seat and back, it doesn't have coasters, but it is comfortable and was only about $49.00.

When I got my new laptop for my wood working office the printer I had would not work with the new computer.  I found out that the new computer is a 64 bit and the printer was only a 32 bit.  I finally found a deal at Best Buy for a printer that  would work.  It is a brother MFC 825, normally it is $150.00, but they had it on sale for $89.00, check on line at different big box stores and the local Sunday sales adds.

Try Rockler in Sandy Springs.  They have a good selection of hard woods and some plywood.  The staff is knowledgeable and helpful.  They carry a lot of woodworking tools and patterns. Their parking lot is a little tight but work the effort.

I am looking for patterns for the "Four Season" hangers.  I want to try them out of Teak or Walnut to hang on the wall.  My wife has some Chinese hanging, but I want something different in four seasons.

No the cross is not yet attached.  I took the picture with my phone camera.  The guy i made it for is going to attach both the cross to the back and then to the deck he made out of Teak.  I did not to make it to hard for him to handle, so I left it unattached.

I posted a picture of the finished project in the gallery section.  The wood is extremely brittle and burns very easily.  I found that if you use a cabinet wood scraper, then sand.  The scraper get most of the high down and then you can sand the wood easier with going thru so many sheets of san paper.  I also used 3 #9 blades because the wood is so thick and hard.  I did like the results but it does take a long time and you do have to go slow.

I have posted the results of my experience with the Teakwood.  I learned a lot and also how to scrape instead of sanding,

My friend brought the wood today.  the piece he wants to cross out is 1in thick by 10in long and 6 in wide.  It is a very dark brownish red in color.  Beautiful grain color in kind of a black.  I am going to try it, I will post pictures and comments when I finish it.  I may learn a few new words, depending on the trouble I have with it.  I may end up making bird houses with it, seeing how it is so good outside.
