Eburk, glad to hear of your wife, Glenda's, progress.  When you two get settled in in Arizona, perhaps you might look for a woodworking club or some similar opportunity to rub up against some sawdust.  Of course, the main task for you will be to help your wife adjust to the new environments.  Best wishes from GLC in Cypress, Texas

Perhaps someone is referring to the "stand" for the saw.  Otherwise I haven't a clue.  Note Steve Carmichael has a good plan to make your own.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Recent Activity on the Blog

It is nice to see activity here again.  I realize there are a lot more "lookers" than "posters" - just human nature I suppose.  I know that many are often restricted in access to our shops in inclement weather but there are scrollers in Alaska who get to their shop this time of year.  Probably prepared for that sort of thing.  Heck, I"ve heard that the elves are already back in their shops at the North Pole preparing for their next big endeavor.  Take heart, we are knocking on March's door and I can see Daylight Saving Time right behind it.   Regards >>> GLC from Cypress, Texas

It appears that there have been "zero" posts to the blog between 2-21-19 and this post today, 2-26-19.  That is an unusually long time.  I have seen lulls before, but this lack of traffic is a mystery of sorts.  Have all of Steve's scrollers fallen off of the face of the earth?   Regards >>> GLC

General Scroll Saw Talk / Extra Blog Content
« on: February 05, 2019, 10:31:04 am »
Steve, just wanted to say thanks for the extra content in today's blog, Tuesday February 5, 2019.  In addition to the Valentine theme pattern it was nice to have the feature on the  magnetic dry erase board features, the relief cutting article with pictures and the additional bonus of seeing wood species from "down under" that the folks  here in the mainland 48 never see.

Welcome to Steve's blog.  There are many knowledgeable and helpful folks here.  You were certainly fortunate to have a Dad who shared wood working with you.  I had an Uncle who was an excellent wood worker who started my love for wood working.  I am a relatively new scroller and follower of Steve's blog with a little over a years experience.

Welcome to Steve's blog.  There are plenty of helpful folks here .  I have noticed the same issue with lines moving away from my saw blades and never considered the possibility of leprechauns here in /south Texas.  I will be more watchful.  In the meantime I would suggest "practice makes perfect".  All thing that we make are not master pieces but there are more and more keepers as we go along.  Regards > GLC in Cypress, Texas
