I agree with dg play with it for a while or until you get sick of the vibration then buy a scroll saw, but don't let it deter you if poss. try and get a demo on a good saw

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Sales Tax
« on: September 13, 2010, 10:15:55 pm »
7% tax is not bad, ours goes up next month to %15 a rise of %2 1/2 but we don't have to declare unless yearly sales exceed around $70ks and if I was selling that much I would have to have staff

A lovely photo Sheila of you and your friend, it must have been hard for you to lose your best friend, I would hate to lose mine, we have been married for 49 years.
You are still as lovely now as you were then

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Looking for the right Planer
« on: September 13, 2010, 03:17:30 am »
I have a Ryobi thickness-er and the min. thickness is 5mm, but if you want thinner you can put a base board in and go down another couple of mils. but for thin stuff keep you blades sharp as blunt ones pick the wood and judder, min. length is 6" and width is 12" length unlimited as some one is there to hold the wood as it is fed through, blades on this machine can be sharpened

General Scroll Saw Talk / Blades
« on: September 12, 2010, 10:59:53 pm »
Any one notice that blades out of the same batch dull or break quicker that others, I was using a blade today and it did not seem to be cutting so changed it only to have the new blade break after about 10 minutes cutting so I put the old one back and finished the project, a further 40 mins. any theories??
