If it is in truly great shape as purported jump on it.  Sell the craftsman or keep it for doing demos at shows.  You won't regret it if it is like new.

Carpenters cloth is a fine mesh metal fabric.  The one she used has holes of 1/2"X1/2".  It comes smaller an larger, usually on a roll at ace hardware etc They will cut to length for you.

I understand that you can lessen the back and forth movement on the blade by adjusting the 3 screws that hold the motor.  loosen those and twist the motor.

I have one similar, it is the bosch colt and I love it.
