I agree with Chuck. A dog in a small cage will not do their business where they sleep unless you ignore them. When you take them out of the cage take them outside immediately.

I center the edge of the wood I'm using on the pattern slot and trace the outline. I cut to the inside of the line I drew and test fit the wood. Usually it's pretty close but needs a little sanding.

When you get a new pack of blades try dipping the top in some paint. As long as it is not too thick I don't think you will have troubles putting it in the blade holder.

I do portraits in 1/8" ply. Sometimes I can find a frame that is thick enough for the portrait, backer and glass. If not, I make a frame. I prefer using glass.

I use picture frame matting. A full sheet (3' ? 4', I think) goes a long way and it is less prone to fading over time. Great selection of colors too.
