General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Hegner Dust Removal Attachment
« on: September 27, 2010, 10:03:55 pm »
You can never get rid of all the dust, the best test is when you have finished sawing or sanding for the day is to dust down everything and then in the morning have a look and you will be surprised at what you see on the surfaces you dusted the night before

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Bent End
« on: September 27, 2010, 10:00:19 pm »
It is possible the bent ends are caused by the blade holder one the side you do not tighten has as a rule a grub screw in it and it has come loose if so screw it back in,

I think teak comes in different colors I have some off an old bed and it is a pale lemon color and is very hard, there is wood charts around but then it is hard to tell, it will not be Kauri as that is a soft wood but very dense the NZ native is protected and the only Kauri available is from the swamp

General Scroll Saw Talk / The line
« on: September 27, 2010, 01:59:47 am »
Over the line, under the line, on the line, where does one cut, I started out by trying to all ways cut on the line that is what the books say, BUT I had trouble with a lot of puzzles, SO now I cut where I think I should, I do not have the on going problem now of the keys breaking
What are your thoughts on this?

« on: September 27, 2010, 01:52:55 am »
There was a big discussion on that started by Cherie and I would say it was for saws that have a big hole where the blade goes through, I use perspex or similar on my band saw and have drilled holes in it to let the saw dust through did the same thing on my old Ryobi and it works well

I normally use a #7 for the profile and a #5 for cutting the puzzle on 3/4" medium hard board

Promises, promises Janet but it never happens, and it just so happens that I take all the care in the world to try and not stuff up putting a blade in so I don't have to admit to being part of the club
