Very nice looking project. Thanks for sharing. Every time you use it you will think how nicely made it is.

no, but interested in learning about stack cutting. I am a little bit leery of it. For some reason I see the pieces coming unstacked and being a problem.

That is a really cool angel. I am still waiting on my FD- UR blades to come in so I can get started! I did a pumpkin ornament with the blade that came with the saw. Did not like the way it cut so I decided to wait for the good stuff hehe.

Well hope your new blades cut better. I spent a month just cutting big pieces into small pieces just to get the feel of how to use my saw better. I put several blades to the test by trying some pretty hard cuts. Made a bunch of nothing, but learned quite a bit about my saw and helped my skills some. Look forward to seeing your projects when you finish them.

Sure like the way the Angel looks standing there.  Is it meant to hold a
small candle?  Looks Good for using a Spiral blade.  Never could get good at using them, so just gave um up for a lost cause.  Danny  :+}

This pattern is from the patterns found here. It does hold a small tea light candle. I still need to stain the wood, but other than that I think it turned out decent for my first spiral project. This was my 5th complete thing I have made with my saw. This week end I plan to work on some ornaments for Christmas and to continue some more on my intarsia project.

Thanks, I think I got lucky on this one. I played around some more with spirals and see they can be tricky. But I am pretty happy with this project. I ordered several kinds of blades from Flying Dutchman. Looking forward to this weekend when I will have more time to make something else.

I was an assistant scout master for the largest American Boy Scout troop in the Far East...Sasebo Japan. We took our boys up to summer camp near Tokyo. Had a weather rock there. Some boys stole it and that evening they reported a Typhoon coming in. Well to teach the thieves a lesson they blamed it on whoever stole the rock and said if the rock was returned and could be "re-calibrated"  we might be able to get that typhoon off course and stay for the rest of camp. Well the rock stayed gone and the typhoon stayed her course. At the last minute the rock suddenly reappeared. They worked to re-calibrate it, but had no hopes of the typhoon moving off course. Well, our luck changed and the typhoon moved out. The scouts were very convinced that the weather rock really worked. Thanks for sharing your rock.

Thousands of years ago people sat around in caves debating if rocks killed people or if people with rocks killed people.

I put copies of all my files in drop box. If for some reason I lost my hard drive all my files are safe. Also you can get some pretty big flash drives. I recommend get at least a 20 gb flash drive and once a month use that to back up files.

Well, I thought this was pretty nice. I showed your work to my wife. She thought it was a tad bit more than nice. To quote her, "Shut up! Is that one piece of wood? That's gorgeous!" Well...needless to say, Good Job!

Wood turning can be pretty tricky...keep at it. Sooner or later you will make something nice and then see the value of it. I have been thinking about combining my scroll saw use with lathe work. Let us know how your turning turns out.

You can get or make rosettes. These are round and designed just for things like dulcimers. Harpkit.com has such designs for you. I have never made a harp nor a dulcimer nor a rosette...but I did get a catalog from them when I ordered plans for a door harp. the back of the catalog has the things you are describing. Hope this helps.

Nice work and a good tip on painting them. I was debating painting some if I made them. My wife was thinking they are wood so wood stain them. Maybe she will see that painting them can be nice too. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the pictures here. Took us a bit of time to figure them out too. Getting used to using them now. Makes it easier to do fret work...just need a lot of patience to get each hole I cut set up. Thanks again. I will print these for the manual.
