Dan, is it true they're taking up "Water Polo" there??  Seriously though, flooding anywhere is not good, was it one big deluge of rain, or a steady build up over weeks? Hope it was only the baseball park that got flooded, and not any houses.

Brag Forum / Re: Some Simple Shelves To Display Work On

great looking shelves, and some very nice work on them too. I'm not sure the shelves will sag in the middle as you have put a backer board along the whole length, which is supporting the shelf section. Just my thought on it.

Nice work there Troy, you can never start too early for Christmas, it always seems to come up on you too fast.

Ray, they start to film new series in a month or so, I have 2 friends at woodturning club that are extra's in the series so they keep me up to date.

great job there Dustin, Although you could take EIEIO's idea a step further and cut your own thread into the wooden car axle and then make a wooden nut to go on end. I've had sucess in the past making nuts and bolts that size using standard metal cutting tap and die sets, they work fine on hardwoods.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Can lacquer be a food safe finish?
« on: July 06, 2013, 02:04:28 pm »
We had a demonstration on finishing at our woodturning club today, and that question was asked by one of our members. The reply was it is food safe as long as it has been allowed to fully cure, the curing time varies between different makes of lacquer, but it will say on the can somewhere the time it takes to fully cure.  Hope this helps
