Here are two letter I was asked to make for a wedding cake initials of bride and groom [Cynthia and M---?] they also asked me to make a cross Jesus type??? and this what I came up with I sent pics for them to see and now await for them to pick up, the spikes in the bottom of the letters are there so they can stick them into the wedding cake, the letters are 4" high and 1" thick, I painted them in antique gold

General Scroll Saw Talk / Old
« on: November 09, 2010, 01:10:01 am »
And not so old, these are a couple of saws on display at the wood-fest show I went to while on holiday the first is a treadle machine in excellent condition and the owner said he used it most of the time for his projects, he is a very accomplished scroller and his work is magnificent, the other is a pedal power machine converted from an old Delta it seems to work OK but is more of a conversation point than being practical.

The Coffee Shop / Holiday
« on: November 08, 2010, 01:35:03 am »
Back home again after a week away, the weather was great, warm during the day and cool at night, we visited our friends and of course spent most of the time with my big sis. so that was great, we went to the wood show on the Sat. but that was a bit of a let down as only a very small percentage of the club was participating I took so photos that I will post later.
These photos are of the place we stayed in Rotorua the set up is great but the bedding was lousy so we will not stay there again, we were only there for 2 nights, the hot thermals pools were good the temp. of the water is regulated at 40o so it is warm and good for the body

General Scroll Saw Talk / Magazines
« on: October 28, 2010, 02:09:54 am »
Verses books??, I have come to the conclusion that it is wiser to buy a couple of books a year in preference to magazines, reasons buying books you can choose what you want out of what you are paying for, types of patterns, style of patterns and size.
With magazines you have  bits and pieces of everything, the 3 mags. I have received of a subscription  I have only seen some in the last edition that I may use, and it came late so will not use them until next year.
What are your thoughts on this?
