The Coffee Shop / The 're-made' man....
« on: March 24, 2012, 02:24:48 pm »

A husband had just finished reading a new book entitled; "You Can Be The Man of Your House."

Finding new courage that he never knew he had, he stormed into the kitchen and announced to his wife:
"From now on, you need to know that I am the man of this house and my word is the 'Law.' You will prepare me a gourmet meal tonight, bring it to me, and when I am done eating my meal, you will clear the dishes and serve me a scrumptious dessert. After dinner, you are going to go upstairs with me and we will make love the way I want! Afterwards, you are going to draw me a bath so I can relax. You will put on soothing music, wash my back and towel me dry and bring me my robe. You will massage my feet and hands to relieve any last bit of tension so that I can sleep like a baby. Then tomorrow, guess who's going to dress me and comb my hair?"

The wife replied, "The funeral director would be my first guess, unless I decide to have you cremated."

The Coffee Shop / A message to my pets!
« on: March 24, 2012, 12:32:17 pm »

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE PETS, THIS IS A TRUE STORY.
FOR THOSE THAT DON'T, IT IS A TRUE STORY.

The following was found posted very low on a refrigerator door.

Dear Dogs and Cats: The dishes on the floor with the paw prints are yours and contain your food The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Placing a paw print in the middle of my plate does not mean that is is suddenly your food, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.

The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack.
Racing me to the top of the stairs is not the object.
Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you can run.

I cannot buy anything bigger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to ensure your comfort. Dogs and cats can actually curl up in a ball when they sleep. It Is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other, stretched out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straight out
and having tongues hanging out on the other end to
maximize space that you are taking up, is nothing but sarcasm.

For the last time, there is no secret exit from the bathroom!  If, by some miracle, I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, meow, try to turn the knob or get your paw under the edge in an attempt to open the door. I must exit through the same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for years - canine/feline attendance is not required.

The proper order for kissing is: Kiss me first, then go smell
the other dog or cat's butt. I cannot stress this enough.

Finally, in fairness, dear pets, I have posted the following
message on the front door:
TO ALL NON-PET OWNERS WHO VISIT AND
LIKE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT OUR PETS:
(1) They live here. You don't.
(2) If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture. That's why they call it 'fur'-niture.
(3) I like my pets a lot better than I like most people.
(4) To you, they are animals. To me, they are adopted sons/daughters who are short, hairy, walk on all fours and don't speak clearly. Remember, dogs and cats are better than kids because they:
(1) eat less,
(2) don't ask for money all the time,
(3) are easier to train,
(4) normally come when called,
(5) never ask to drive the car,
(6) don't hang out with drug-using people;
(7) don't smoke or drink,
(8) don't want to wear your clothes,
(9) don't have to buy the latest fashions,
(10) don't need a gazillion dollars for college and
(11) if they get pregnant, you can sell their children.....

I was sitting here last night at almost 10:00 getting ready to shut down for the day when all of a sudden my Skype started beeping! Was not expecting any calls and I almost fell out of the chair.

When Skype opened there was ol' Russ Claridy!
We had a nice chat and I told him that any time he sees me online to just jump in! And sometimes I am on quite late so drop in any time...

This is from a caricature on the wall at my barber shop...My barber is a long time hot rod and car nut and one of his other customers painted this on the wall of his shop. I took a photo and Grampa made me a pattern.
10 x 13 - 1/4" BB in my very first home made frame of rough sawn cedar.

Not one of my 'better' photos!

« on: March 20, 2012, 10:49:49 pm »
My self built desktop computer has been showing signs of age lately and rather than go through the exercise of collecting parts and building a new desktop I have opted to do the 'laptop' thing!

This evening I went to MicroCenter and bought myself a new Acer laptop!
So far I am loving it!

Acer Aspire model 5750-6866
4 Gb memory
500 GB Hard Drive
15.6" widescreen
DVD reader/burner
multi-card reader

$399.99

Good Reviews and I turned it on and set it up with no problems so far....

I will keep you all posted on the progress...

SYLVIA:
Hi! Wanda.

WANDA: Hi! Sylvia. How'd you die?

SYLVIA:
I froze to death.

WANDA: How horrible!

SYLVIA:
It wasn't so bad. After I quit shaking from the cold, I began to get warm & sleepy, and finally died a peaceful death. What about you?

WANDA: I died of a massive heart attack. I suspected that my husband was cheating, so I came home early to catch him in the act. But instead, I found him all by himself in the den watching TV.

SYLVIA:
So, what happened?

WANDA: I was so sure there was another woman
there somewhere that I started running all over the house looking. I ran up into the attic and searched, and down into the basement. Then I went through every closet and checked under all the beds. I kept this up until I had looked everywhere, and finally I became so exhausted that I just keeled over with a heart attack and died.

SYLVIA: Too bad you didn't look in the freezer ---we'd both still be alive.
