I was wondering if anyone knew what the material is that is put on the saw table when it's made. Mine is etching away and the raw steal under neath is turning my hands black, which in turn is turning all my work black. I've tried waxing over it but not much help.

This is Steve's pattern for the Butterfly. I decided to stick them to a flower. The wings are Purpleheart, the body is white wood dowel, the flower is Yellowheart and the leaves are poplar. A friend asked if I could make a butterfly for his wife's desk.

I like making these. I have been working on the whole Seven Seas collection. Usually they recommend a black background. I like putting some color behind them.
