Brag Forum / Finished product....Yea!
« on: May 26, 2011, 02:58:02 pm »
This Indian was designed by our very own Russ back a couple years ago.  I had a lot of fun cutting it.  Started using the UR#5 blade and then the ur#3, but wasn't happy with the tight turns needed, so tried a UR#1 and Bingo.  It cut so, so smooth and almost 100% accurate.  Oh yea I stacked two using good ole Lowes quarter inch Red Oak.  Its really only 3/16" thick.  Anyway the bottom piece came out with very, very little fuzzies.  I was impressed, so I finished it as if it were the top.  You be the judge.  I would love any and all Pros and Cons.  Thanks ....  Danny  :+}

General Scroll Saw Talk / Modifying Oil Products????
« on: May 10, 2011, 12:06:44 pm »
I have always used oil Stain for my projects until recently when I learned about lemon oil, boiled limeseed oil and other oils.  The oils really do a better job of covering the end grain which was my hang up with stains.  Lately I have been using the oils, but like the lemon and limeseed oils just don't have much color.  My question is....Is there any product that can be mixed with the oils to change the color to different shades?
                  I thank yas for any info.  Later....  Danny  :+}

Good :-) Morning to ALL....
     I want to thank you all for you concern.  Gee it sure is GOOD to have so many Scrollin Friends.  Well fortunitly the area I live in was spared.  There was so, so much distruction eleswheres.  I am sure you all have been keeping up with the news about it all.  We were with out power for a lil over four days and it was a different way of dealing with the everyday things.  This is the first time the power was out for this long.  Normal was maybe a few hours.  The need for ICE was the most thought about from day today.  Charcole was a close second.  We had a gas grill so was able to cook the meats etc. Kind of enjoyed getting up normal at 5 am and heating my tea kettle with water for a few cups of coffee.  My Mom lives approx. a quarter mile from me and she is 84 years young, so I would take a thermost with hot water for her to use for her coffee etc.  Gas for the cars was a huge problem.  Long, long lines everywheres.  Generators were a real big seller and I tell you the noise they make is awful in the middle of the night.  We did not buy one.  Well the power came on last night (Sunday) at 8:20 pm and I couldn't believe that all my neighbors came outside as we did and we all cheered and kind of huged.  Was like New Years eve.  Someone across the street even had fire works.  Was really cool.  There are still areas without power, but news is all will have it by late Wednesday.
     Well again I want EVERYONE to know that his Forum we are part of is like
a part of my family.  Later....  Danny  :+}

Think someone eles posted this project before, but I finally found the pattern and it looked like the person wanted you to use a spiral blade by the way it looked.  Well spiral blades just don't work for me, so I exagerater the line to make the eagles feather have a effect sort of.  Up close it really looks Neat.  Anyway wat u think?  Danny  :+}

General Scroll Saw Talk / I am Just Wondering....
« on: April 04, 2011, 06:17:30 pm »
This is about the ones of us that uses the foot switch....
I have NEVER had the foot switch and I have been mostly standing up doing all my Scrolling....Until bout three months ago....In which I started sitting down in a VERY comfortble chair with the saw on a lower table.  Well here's the question....  After three months I find my RIGHT foot always In the upright position between changing from one intry hole to another.  Its like the heel is on the ground and the toes are up in the air just waiting for me to complete the change and begin again.  LOL  Yea!  even tho I sometimes think about it and RELAX my foot I mostly ALWAYS am doin this.  Is anyone eles experiencing this minor thing?  Later....  Danny  :+}

Husband standing around with a fly swatter

"What  are you doing?"
She asked .

"Hunting Flies"
He responded .

"Oh ! Killing any?"
She asked .

"Yep, 3 males, 2 Females," he replied .

Intrigued ,  she inquired .
"How can you tell them apart?"

"3 were on a beer can,

The Coffee Shop / Hawaiian Story from my Nephew....LOL
« on: March 26, 2011, 12:46:07 pm »
You guys might know this story already, but...........
 This happened about a month ago just outside of Oluwalu befo da Pali .
 It sounds like a Hawaiian Legend.

 This haole tourist was on the side of the road, hitchhiking on a real
 dark night in the middle of a rain storm. Time passed slowly and no
 cars went by. It was raining so hard he could hardly see his hand in
 front of his face.

Suddenly he saw a car moving slowly, approaching and appearing ghost
 like in the rain. It slowly and silently crept toward him and stopped.
 Wanting a ride real bad the guy jumped in the car and closed the door;
 only then did he realize that there was nobody behind the wheel, and
 no sound of an engine .

Again the car go slowly forward and the guy was too scared to think of
 jumping out and running. The guy saw that the car was approaching the
Pali and the sharp curves. da guy was still too scared to jump out, so
 he started to pray and began begging for his life; he was sure the
 ghost car would go off the road and into the ocean and he would drown!

 But just before the curve, a shadowy figure appeared at the driver's
 window and a hand reached in and turned the steering wheel, guiding
 the car safely around the curves. Then, just as silently, the hand
 disappeared through the window and the hitchhiker was alone again!
 Paralyzed with fear, the guy watched the hand reappear every time they
 reached another curve.

Finally the guy, scared to near death, had all he could take and
 jumped out of the car and ran and ran all the way to Malaea. Wet and
 scared, he go into Buzz's and ordered two Primo Beer, then told
 everybody about the ghost experience.

Nobody say one word and everybody get chicken skin when they realized
 the guy was telling the truth and was not lolo or drunk.

About half an hour later two blahlahs walked into the bar and one says
 to the other, 'Look Kimo, ass da buggah that rode in our car when we
 wuz pushin it in the rain.'

I thought we all could use a good laugh to begin our day.
