General Scroll Saw Talk / Tough challenge today
« on: January 22, 2011, 08:35:54 pm »
I had four students registered for my beginner scroll saw class today. Three showed up on time, Three gentlemen. Everything was going along fine. One hour into the class the fourth student showed up, A twelve year old boy! I had never taught a child before so it was tough getting him familiar with the scroll saw and cutting properly while keeping the other students busy. Fortunately The three gentlemen where quick Learners and did not need as much attention as the twelve year old.
By the end of the three hour class, The three gentlemen had completed their projects and where quite happy with what they had learned.
I gave my demo projects to the boy so he had something to give to his mother for Valentines day. He was very happy too.
I don't know how you do it Mrsn!

The Coffee Shop / Left handers
« on: January 02, 2011, 06:48:16 pm »
I am left handed. I find that most left handers I meet have some sort of creative outlet. Of course for me it is woodworking. Before that I was a musician for twenty years, and have always dabbled in crafts such as stained glass.
How many of you are left handed?
