Brag Forum / A Portrait of my Mother.... :+}
« on: August 27, 2012, 03:01:34 pm »
First I want to give my sincerest Thanks to Ron (Joleet) for taking the time to design this pattern for me.

Is it the same with all?  To start cutting at One of 300 different holes you can't see anything changing, but toward the half way point I started seeing my Mom start to
take shape and as I said to my self Mom your starting to come to life.  The more I cut the more everything started to show.  Anyway I cut using 1/8 BB and cut 4 layers.  One for each of my 2 brothers and sister and of course one for myself.  Even the BOTTOM layer came out as clean cut as the top.  Just Love that FD-UR #1 blade.

On pins n needles to read the replys.  Danny  :+}

The Coffee Shop / God really Does Have His Ways.... :+}
« on: July 18, 2012, 08:03:32 pm »
Thanks go out to each and everyone for your kindness and warm thoughts.  I just had to post another thing concerning my Mothers Death Yesterday.  We are a BIG family.  Counting the kids there were 37 people around Moms bed for around 10 hours yesterday.  The Doctors told us when we authorized them to remove her life support that she would pass from 5 minutes to a day.  Slowly thru-out the day different families and friends went home.  At around 4:00 pm our immediate family talked it over and ALL of us decided to go home.  We did pay our LAST love to Mom before we left.
We barely arrived at home when we got a telephone call from the Adult ICU unit saying that Mom had taken her last breath and was pronounced dead.  The Nurse that called made this statement.
She had been with us all day and noticed most everything that went on.  Said she noticed her monitors acting differently from when we were all there.  She said and I DO BELIEVE that Mom was such a Proud, Loving Woman that she didn't want any of her family to see her die.  She waited them approx. 10 hours for all of us to leave before....  God is Good....  Danny  :+}

The Coffee Shop / Need You.... :+(
« on: July 17, 2012, 08:12:13 pm »
Hello to All my Scrolling Family....  Today was so, so sad for me and all my family.  Our Mother decided she was ready to start her new life in Heaven with all her Loved ones.  She has been fighting heart problems along with others for the past six months.  My Mother was 84 years old and we all feel she lived a life worthy of offering her an award for being always there to care for any and all people and situations.  She was a Care Giver for 10 years.  She lived with
5 different people during this time.  They are all gone now, but I just know each and everyone of them are just awaiting Moms entry thru them golden gates of Heaven with Jesus holding her had and leading her in.  Such a Wonderful feeling knowing she is in such a Beautiful place.

Thank you all for being my friend.  I and all of my family will get over this and I will always believe....Life Will Go On....  Friends Forever    Danny  :+}

General Scroll Saw Talk / Have you seen Steves latest?
« on: July 12, 2012, 07:35:23 pm »
Wow!  Sue Mae has outdone herself on these designs.  All of them are simply Beautiful don't you think?  I will for sure be cutting I say ALL OF THEM.   Just a off the wall remark....I have really tried to be a designer, but fell short of achieving anything that I could say "I am Proud of", so just gave it up.  Just imagining how Sue does it is beyond my imagination.  Anyway....  Danny  :+}

The Coffee Shop / A Funny Story.... Hehehehehehehehe.... :+}
« on: July 06, 2012, 10:16:14 am »

A successful rancher died and left everything to his devoted wife.

She  was a very good-looking woman and determined to keep the ranch, but knew very  little about ranching, so she decided to place an ad in the newspaper for a  ranch hand.

Two  cowboys applied for the job. One was gay and the other a drunk.

She  thought long and hard about it, and when no one else applied she decided to  hire the gay guy, figuring it would be safer to have him around the house than  the drunk.

He  proved to be a hard worker who put in long hours every day and knew a lot  about ranching.

  For  weeks, the two of them worked, and the ranch was doing very well.

Then  one day, the rancher's widow said to the hired hand, "You have done a really  good job, and the ranch looks great. You should go into town and kick up your  heels." The hired hand readily agreed and went into town one Saturday  night.

One  o'clock came, however, and he  didn't return.

Two  o'clock and no hired  hand.

Finally  he returned around two-thirty, and upon entering the  room he himself a bit tipsy and lonely, he found the rancher's widow sitting by the fireplace with a glass of  wine, waiting for him.

She  quietly called him over to her.

"Unbutton  my blouse and take it off," she said.

Trembling,  he did as she directed. "Now take off my boots."

He  did as she asked, ever so slowly. "Now take off my socks"

He  removed each gently and placed them neatly by her boots.

"Now  take off my skirt."

He  slowly unbuttoned it, constantly watching her eyes in the fire  light.

"Now  take off my bra." Again, with trembling hands, he did as he was told and  dropped it to the floor.

Then  she looked at him and said, "If you ever wear my clothes into town again,  you're fired."

(P.S.  - Yeah, I didn't see it coming, either)

Brag Forum / Another Batch of Christmas Ornaments.... :+}
« on: July 04, 2012, 02:16:52 pm »
Well I guess I have the ornament bug as most all I want to cut are these.
Maybe its because last years Craft Show was GOOD with selling approx.
148 ornaments of between $1 and $3.  Anyway this year I have not cut any ordinary ones.  Like the Challenge of fine cutting.  This time I used various species of 1/8" ply.  Stacked cut 5 up.  Used mostly the FD-UR #1 Blade.
                                   Heres some more....  Danny  :+}

The Coffee Shop / How HOT is it in your Back Yard? :+}
« on: July 01, 2012, 04:10:28 pm »
Here in Huntsville, Alabama this is the 4th day of HIGH temps. between
103 and 106....  Whew!  Even the birds stand there with their beeks wide open.
My shop is cooled with 3 fans and the temp. gauge in the afternoon has read over 100 each day.  But with the 3 fans going wide open its bearable to enjoy making saw dust.  Anway  Haven't noticed many new posts in the last few days, so this maybe will get things going.  Danny  :+}

This is one of Steves many, many wonderful designs....
Was waiting for my wood order and had a piece of Lowes 1/4" birch Ply laying around, so decided to make good use of my time.  Anyway I think they both came out real good.  Now the worst part of this hobby.  Finishing them.  LOL
Of course all comments are very, very welcome....  Danny  :+}
