General Scroll Saw Talk / Caution about stick on sandpaper
« on: August 09, 2012, 07:49:39 pm »
Recently I visited a supply store and picked up some stick on sandpaper that was on sale to use with my 4X4, 1/4 sheet palm sander. It didn't take me very long to realize that the edge of the sandpaper can cause a very serious cut if your fingers or hand come in contact with it.  I have decided to use the stuff attached to a piece of wood. I guess there was a reason why it was on sale in the first place. Also it will destroy the foam pad on your sander.

Brag Forum / Ducks
« on: July 17, 2012, 06:59:18 am »
I got the eyes from Meisel last week and was finally able to complete the ducks I did earlier this year. The pattern is from the Summer 2012 issue of SSWC mag.
Thanks Paul I enjoyed making the lawn ornaments. I made three sets. One for my wife, one for my brother who had major heart surgery and one to see  how well it would sell. The set sold with in 24 hours of being displayed in front of my house for the price I wanted.

« on: July 11, 2012, 01:12:26 pm »
This one has been in my mind for the past several days and I just have to post it.

A little boy and a little girl were playing one day when the boy dropped his pants and said with a big smile, " You will never have one of these".
To that the little girl pulled down her pantys and said " with one of these I can have as many of them as I want." :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ ;D ;D

The Coffee Shop / You!
« on: July 05, 2012, 04:05:28 pm »
Every once in a while you see or hear something that touches a cord, well this did it to me today.

"You need to open your eyes. You are not made up of those words that hurt you. Or that number on the scale. Or the expectations that you feel you will never meet. You are made up of nothing more than you. Simply, beautifully, wonderfully, uniquely you. You are a lovely and complex soul. An individually fascinating combination of thoughts, ideas, feelings, emotions. No other is as beautiful as you. Look past the mirror. Look at your soul. Only then will you see yourself as you truly are. Beautiful. So smile! And don?t forget to love yourself."

« on: June 29, 2012, 09:43:05 am »
A tourist was walking along a trail  with a local of our town and the following conversation ensued. The tourist pointed to a plant with some berries on it and asked, " What kind if berries are they."
The newfie repiled, "Dem is blueberries."
To which the tourist asked, "  Why are they white?"
To which the newfie explained, " dat is because dem are still green".

It's no good to pick the green blueberries! ;D ;D

Pattern Requests. / Need your help
« on: June 24, 2012, 08:39:48 am »
As most of you know my brother, Les, had major heart surgery over two weeks ago. Since then he has had a number of issues that have set him back. The surgery went well and he has had the staples removed. However he has a hugh pressure sore on his tongue as a result of having the ventilitator tube in for so long. He was supposed to come home friday past but at 4:00 am he had a nose bleed that lasted all day. to a degree they had to give him a transfusion. The source of the bleed could not be located so they plugged both his nostrals. The plugs will be removed tomorrow then there is a 24 hour observation period so he may get home on Tuesday God willing. He has suffered so much. The surgery, the sore tongue and add to that having his nose plugged for 3 days. My request of you fine people. Can someone create a plaque to show courage, perserverence in the face of so many set backs.  Physically both Les and his wife are exausted and need to be home. Keep them in your prayers. Thanks, Clyde

The Coffee Shop / More thoughts and prayers needed
« on: June 07, 2012, 06:39:18 am »
As I read the posts I know that all of you have deep beliefs and faith (As so do  we) and I am calling on your faith today. My younger brother ( Les, 56 years old) will be undergoing major heart reconstructive surgery. He is having the aortic valve replaced, 1 by-pass, a second valve repaired and the size of one chamber reduced in size. He has been on the list for a while now he has gone through pre-opp twice, his nerves are gone but yesterday he got the green light and is as I write in the OR. Please give him some thought today and all prayers are welcome. I am leaving for the hospital shortly to begin the long day ahead. Thanks  Clyde

This is my first attempt at Ron Brown's sliding silhouette. It was for my grandaughter, took about 10 minutes to cut. I can see ways to improve.

The Coffee Shop / Poisoned
« on: May 29, 2012, 11:31:15 am »
You know when people take advantage to a situation. On Feb 10 2010 I had a minor rear ender on a slippery road.  The air bags didn't even deploy. The rear bumper of the other car had to be replaced at a cost of about $2500.00. I received a letter this morning from my insurance company telling me that they settled with the other driver involved to the tune of "$107,000". I was skocked.  >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

« on: May 28, 2012, 09:06:08 am »
THIS IS NOT AS EASY AS IT LOOKS
Pass to all 40 yrs and older. Cardiovascular Exercise
The older we get the more important it is to incorporate exercise into our
daily routine.

This is necessary to maintain cardiovascular health and maintain muscle
mass.

Always consult your doctor before starting any exercise program!

Scroll Down.

NOW SCROLL UP..

That's enough for the first day. Great job.
Have a glass of Wine.
